Cooking with Baby

I'm looking for suggestions for cooking while caring for an infant. I have a HotSling that my daughter is in a lot of the day. I like the closeness of the sling but am not a rabid attachment parenting follower... I am okay with putting her down. I have done some cooking while she's in the sling, but I'm afraid the grease is going to splatter on her and I have a hard time reaching around her to cut things up. But when I try to put her down while she's awake, she cries until I pick her up. She's only 12 weeks, so I don't know what could...

How to Unspoil a Baby?

My cousin is young, just graduated highschool and have a 3 month old baby. We all know how it is with the first baby. You are learning how to be a mom and in the process you spoil the baby rotten. In her case, too rotten! She hold the baby literally all day and all night. Literally, I am not exaggerating. She hand him off to me for about 10 minutes while she take a shower. Other than that, she hold him when he sleep, when he eat and when he's awake.We asked her to clean her room and she said that she cant because everytime she put him down...

Request for Baby Gear

If there's anyone willing to sell newborn to infant baby gear,such as a bassinett, baby bed, baby bedding, high chair, etc.... please contact me. I'm in need of everything!! Baby due March 26th. It's a Boy!!! Before I knew I was having another one, I donated everything calling it quits! Well we didn't have the last say in that decision...and here we are again! Overly Needy Infant?

I have a beautiful 4-month old boy and while he is relatively easy to soothe and calm down, he becomes intolerably fussy within 2 minutes of being put down anywhere. I end up playing with him or holding him the entire day which I know they need a lot of at this age, but makes it impossible for me to get dressed or cook a meal without listening to a screaming fit. I hear different things: 1) let him cry it's good for him but only for 15 minutes at a time or 2) don't let them cry, they perceive this as abandonment and retain subconscious...
