Q Re: Angel Care Sleep Monitors

I am about to get an Angel Care sleep monitor and I've heard mostly great things about it. My only concern is that during the summer months my hubby and I have fans going in our bedroom and sometimes even the A/C. I've heard that the monitor is so sensative that even a fan blowing at the crib can register as baby movement and so defeats the purpose. Has anyone else had this experience and if so how do you deal with the hot summer months? I want to keep my baby cool and I don't want to sweat to death, either! I was thinking perhaps we...

Infant Who Insists on Sleeping on Her Belly

I have a 6 month old beautiful girl who recently began turning over in her bassinet. I wake up in the middle of the night for feeding or to check on her and she is face down asleep. I am worried because I have heard so many horror stories of crib death, suffication, etc. I have tried putting the body guards but she still manages to turn around. Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences like this. Should I be worried.

I Don't Care About Sleeping Through the Night... Just Go to Sleep 1St Please!

My 7 week old baby only likes to go to sleep on me. I'm so afraid that I am building a bad habit. I can put him in his crib once he is asleep. But, he has to really be asleep. There have been a few occasions where I have been able to put him in his bed as he was drifting off to sleep. At first I was very opposed to the cry it out techniques. Then, I decided to try it out of desparation. I don't want to co-sleep with my baby. I don't think that the cry it out technique is going to work for us because he will cry for over an hour. I...

Baby Wont Sleep on Back

My infant will not sleep on her back! I have a three year old boy who always slept on his back, as per doctor recommendations these days (SIDS risk reduction). Now I have just had a baby girl, she is two months old, and absolutley refuses to sleep on her back. She doesnt even really like spending awake time on her back very much. I have tried elevating her head, lulling her in my arms then putting her to sleep on her back, even putting her on her side with a 'wedge' to keep her in place. She is a very calm, good baby, normal, healthy,...

Belly Sleeping Infant - Need Advice!!!

My daughter is now 4 weeks old and she will not sleep on her back. After many, many nights of relentless crying, dozing, then waking up again screaming, I flipped her onto her stomach and ***ZONK*** lights out! She slept like a log for 3 hours straight. I have researched and understand the risk of SIDS with belly sleeping infants, but I need to know if I'm the only one who has experienced this!!! I don't want to be called a "bad mom" because I am putting her on her tummy, but I don't know what else to do. Every day I try her on her...

Letting Infant Sleep on Tummy

I know that because of SIDS the AAP and other organizations/doctors recommend almost always putting your baby to sleep on their back, except in extreme cases of reflux or other medical problems. With my first daughter, I always put her to sleep on her back, but she learned to roll over to her tummy at about 7 or 8 weeks, and slept much better once she did. With my 7 week old, she has not learned to roll over and does not seem like she's planning to try it anytime soon (like my first did), but I have let her sleep on her stomach a few times...
