Hey Mommies,

I need to get my oil changed ASAP, and don't know where to go - we recently moved to Sac, and therefor don't have a local favorite.
Any suggestions for inexpensive, dependable, HONEST auto repair shops that won't take advantage of me 'cause I'm a woman and don't speak "mechanic"?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

I like Oil Stop. The one I know of is on the corner of Fair Oaks and Madison Avenue in Fair Oaks. I have gone there a lot and really like their service and their whole attitude. There is also Jiffy Lube... but I think Oil Stop is so much better.

In 2004 when I returned from living in Texas, my daughter told me about them, so I went over for an oil change and air filter change. My car at the time needed two air filters and they were out of one, so the guy ran over to the auto parts store and got one while I waited. Going the extra mile.

When I run out of free oil changes for my "new" car at the dealership, I will be headed back to Oil Stop.

My husband usually changes our oil. However, we have used Gallardo's in Rocklin for auto maintenance and have always found them to be reliable, and they stand behind their maintenance. I won't say they are cheap, because no auto repair work is cheap anymore, but they do seem to be competitive and cheaper than the auto dealers.

I like Chevron Oil Stop. They'll tell you if they want to change something...show you the part, and if you say no, they don't pressure you. They will give you a pamphlet to tell you about what they wanted to change and tell you by when you should really change it.
