I bought my son's at pottery barn kids. It has a cotton, thick quilted top. A little pricey but we're still using it after 2 years.
Can anyone recommend a waterproof mattress pad that's breathable? My 3 1/2 y/o wakes up soaked in her own sweat b/c our current pad doesn't let her skin breathe. Not having one isn't an option, she's not potty trained at night & has the occasional diaper leak. Thanks a million!

I bought ours at American Mattress, it's called Protect-O-Bed....LOVE them!!! They are breathable, waterproof, AND have a 10 year Guarantee. If your mattress gets defective due to the pad not doing "it's job," then they will replace the pad AND your mattress. The sales associate did a "test" on it for me (with tea), it was amazing. They are on the pricey side...$60 for twin size...but totally worth it, especially with the 10 year warranty.
we got our crib matress cover at lazar's in lincolnwood and it's organic and totally breathable but absolutely waterproof which is a fantastic combo. i'm not sure the brand but i'm sure that if you contact them they can direct you accordingly. i'm assuming that they have it in big kid bed sizes as they sell big kid beds.
I got some from http://www.valethics.com/ and love them. Cotton on one side, not sure the other, but breathable, and does not smell like vinyl like other ones I bought.
I bought one I liked from JC Penney online. It's sort of quilted and doesn't seem plasticky at all. It's lasted forever, too.
