I am looking for a space with beautiful bluebonnets/wildflowers so I can take my kiddos for pictures. I live in McKinney and would like to keep this within a 25 mile radius. These will be nonprofessional, just for fun!!

Great BlueBonnet Photo Spots in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex....

· Mount Zion Cemetary located on FM 423, just south of Highway 380 - great for bluebonnets
· Frito-Lay headquarters on Legacy Drive in Plano - great for bluebonnets
· Ennis - great for bluebonnets
· Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Road, Dallas - great for Spring Flowers
· Prairie Creek Park in Richardson, just off of 75 at Prairie Creek West and Campbell -thick wildflowers and a gorgeous waterfall that makes an incredible background for photos.
· White Rock Lake - if you get lucky, you can get a sailboat or a family of ducks in the background, and from some places, even a view of Downtown. Patches of Bluebonnets
· Botanical Gardens, Heritage Park, Grapevine - Located at Wall and Ball Streets, Grapevine, this beautiful and serene park covers almost 12 acres. Great for flower shots

There is a cemetery north of Frisco that has beautiful bluebonnets! We went there to take pictures last year and were very pleased. I cannot remember the name, and tried to search and cannot find it! Maybe another poster will know the name. Ennis is the "bluebonnet capital of Texas" and if you are willing to drive that far, you will be pleased. Stop at the Chamber of Commerce/Visitor's Center and ask for a map, and they will point out the best locations for lush bluebonnets. You can also find the bluebonnet trail on their website: http://visitennis.org/Festivals/Bluebonnet%20Trails.html

I know of two area's: one is in Frisco. Drive down Legacy heading towards the tollway. Once you are on the east side of Preston keep your eyes open, the area is in front of one of the office buildings. They have taken pictures there for the cover of Frisco Style.

The other area has a lot more bluebonnets, but its outside the 25 miles. Go down 35 to Dallas, exit I-20 east. You will see billions of bluebonnets all along the roadside. You may wish to go all the way to the BSA's Camp Wisdom and park there. Just inside the camp there is a field with a lot of bluebonnets. Or exit somewhere along I-20 and walk around and find a field to take pictures in.

"Mount Zion Cemetary located on FM 423, just south of Highway 380 - great for bluebonnets " I want to say this one isn't good anymore. I think a neighborhood has gone into the area where the good bluebonnets were. We took our now 6 year old son there about 5 years ago and they were good.

There is a patch if you head south on Custer, its just before Spring Creek Pkwy but I'm not sure if its good this year or not. I really haven't seen any great fields yet.
