I have a 31 days cycle with periods lasting from 6-7days. I was expecting my period on the 12th of this month and I am as of now 10 days late. Yesterday on the 21st. I went to the bathroom and wiped and saw a gush of pink blood. Assuming my period had came i placed a pad down. and hour later I went to the restroom and noticed the bleeding was gone but i had then see a grayish pink discharge on my pad and happened to notice a lima bean-shaped tissue with a red clot-looking thing in the middle That was not in the toliet prior to my use. I have an appointment scheduled for next Tuesday...i would just like some thoughts or suggestions as to what might of happend or be happening to me. I have noticed a speck or to of pink when using the restroom but no cramps or discomfort. I have a three year old son and I did not experience any spotting or bleeding with my first pregnancy.

What can I do next?

When I had a miscarriage, i had some blood, and then I had a good 8 hours of severe cramps. I soaked super pads every 30 minutes for a good 5 hours.

If this didn't happen, it might be implantation bleeding. This happens with something like 8% of pregnancies. It is associated with a higher risk of miscarriage. In fact, I had it with my miscarriage. But there was no mistaking the difference: with the one, I had a little bleeding, with the other, I was on the couch in pain, bleeding like crazy.

It's good you have a doctors appointment. You could also take a pregnancy test.

Welcome to mamapedia!

Why aren't you calling your OB/GYN and asking him or her about this? They would most likely have you come in for a pregnancy test.

Why haven't you taken a pregnancy test before this?

Clots happen. Our bodies shed tissue all the time. The lima-bean shaped tissue you saw on your pad?? It's tissue. If pregnant - you might be 3 weeks - so it would look like this:

The only way you are going to find out if you were pregnant is to pee on a stick - even if you have miscarried? The HgH (humna growth hormone) SHOULD still be present. If it's negative? You were NOT pregnant and your body is changing and cycling differently.

Make an appointment for a check up with your OB/GYN and find out what's going on.

Good luck!

could be. a very early miscarriage could well look like this. but sometimes normal period blood has clots too.
i wouldn't fret too much. sounds like your body is doing what it's designed to do, one way or the other.

Take a pregnancy test. Even if you miscarried your hormone level would still indicate you are pregnant and then you will know for sure.

Best of luck.

I can't tell you if what you experienced was a miscarriage, but my experience was a lot more like Julie described. There was no mistaking that it was very different than a period. Good to see your doctor.

Take a pregnancy test. I agree with Julie G and AV on the miscarriage symptoms including a LOT more bleeding and cramping. If you did have/are having a miscarriage, you would likely still test positive at this point. If it comes back negative, you can stop worrying unless you have other symptoms. If it comes back positive, go see the OB/GYN. You could certainly still be pregnant and continue with the pregnancy. With my first I had some very small brownish clots at about 5-6 weeks. My doctor referred to that as my system cleaning out any old tissue to get ready for the pregnancy.
