I tried for a while for my second child and did lots of reading on this topic.

1. What do you mean by "eat right"??? Do you eat right for a normal healthy adult woman? are you eating enough good fats, cutting out caffiene, etc. This is an interesting book (The Fertility Diet) http://www.health.harvard.edu/book_extras/the-fertility-d...

2) You have been trying for waaaay long enough to pay a visit to your doctor and ask what is going on, maybe you have a blocked fallopian tube or something. Rather than continue thinking about it and trying everything it might be medical.

My cousin had problems with concieving. She went through many invitro and nothing. She had been trying for 10 years. Her dad needed a kidney transplant and she was a match, but she needed to lose 50 pounds. She worked very hard and lost the weight, then got pregnant on her own! He son is now almost 2 years old and thriving. Her dad also got a kidney from the transplant list :) Great time for my family. Just keep your head up and dont worry about it. If its ment to be it will happen. If you are really worried about it and dont want to wait anymore, mention something to your doctor.

Maybe its not you. You both should go visit your doctor and understand what options there are for you. Best Wishes.

You should try your doctor. After trying for so long and seeing that the pregnancy tests come out negative does get to you after trying for several years (believe me i kno exactly what your going thru). I may be younger than you but i did have a hard time as well. Really, you should make an appointment and check with your doctor, just to make sure that everything is okay with both you and ur husband.

Best wishes & Good luck
Merry Christmas

I have been in your shoes M.! I know it's just about impossible to "not think about" getting pregnant when people around you are getting pregnant etc. I focused on nieces and nephews around me and quietly kept the faith. As others have advised you, check with your doctor (ob/gyn) if you already have done that, go to a fertility doctor. After 11 long years of struggling with infertility, we were able to go thru IVF and have been blessed with boy/girl twins who will be 3 in January. Thankfully we needed only 1 ivf cycle to get pregnant. A few months before I started the ivf process I started seeing an acupuncturist who specializes in dealing with infertility issues as well as other "women" issues. If anything, the acupuncture did help me relax.

As hard as it is, try not to get too frustrated and give up hope. Adoption was our next step if the ivf didn't work. (in both cases, money was a big issue as to why we waited so long.)

Good luck!

Oh, in case you are interested, the website to the acupuncturist I went to is www.abundantspring.com

Hello Mel,

I had a hard time too and I'm way older than you. It took me 2 1/2 years. I went for massages to help me relax and I also did acupuncture. But eating good fats is important too. Make sure you're introducing that into your healthy diet. This is a wonderful book:

Real Food for Mother and Baby: The Fertility Diet, Eating for Two, and Baby's First Foods

by Nina Planck

Just remember to relax. All will be fine.
