Vitamin Confusion

I am trying to find a multivitamin that "fits" me. I printed off a reccomended list of what multivitamins should have in them, but from the ones I've read I would have to take at least two of my multivitamin to get some of them, but then would be getting way to much of others. Is there an actual multivitamin that meets what is doctor recommended? I eat pretty healthy so am not absolutely worried about it having the exact amount. But seems a little ridiculous when one has 1/4th of 1/30th of a vitamin recommendation. Does anyone have suggestions?

Hi J., I shop at Melaleuca and take their vitamins myself... You could give the link below a visit and read about them--- see if they're what you're looking for. They actually have a 90 day money-back guarantee on them--- also known as the 90 Day Challenge... the company wants you to use them for the full 90 days and if you don't feel a marked difference, send them the empy bottle back for a full refund! I just think that's great! They also have vitamins for children too.

I take a multivitamin everyday, but also two Citracal with D plus two D vitamins and two Omega 3's. All are Dr. ordered as I have a huge vitamin D dificiency. Anyway, it is alot, but works for what I need. I would talk to your Dr. so you won't end up taking alot of things you don't need and especially two multivitamins and end up doubling up on some things. You can get too much of some vitamins. If your Dr. thinks you need more than a multivitamin, you could just add the extra vitamin, such as Calcium. Best wishes.

Hello,
My husband is doctor and we have researched many multivitamins over the course of 14 years and the one that we have been using for the past several years is a liquid multi called Intramax.
It's a great product and is very easy to use!

This is not a product from a multilevel marketing company either, like the other ones mentioned! :)

J., I have found that the best approach to insuring the optimal intake of the macronutrients, micronutrients, enzymes and vitamins we need each day is to eat a minimum of 5-9 servings per day of fruits and vegetables, preferably raw. Obviously a tall order and very difficult to do. For many years I have been prescribing to my patients a product called Juice Plus which is 17 different organically grown fruits and vegetables in a capsule. They even have available a gummie option for the kids. I have had great success with these products personally as have my patients. More information can be found at http://www.drbrucehealth.info or call me at ###-###-####. I hope this helps.

Vitamins are a complex thing. But you dont need them to be exact. The best thing to do is try your local health food store. It depends on your age or any troubles you may have. I have pms and am gluten intolerant so I take one that has no glutten and has plenty of calcium and magnesium for pms. Also, I took a B complex for a year after I had my 2nd child to regulate hormones so it depends on your situation.
I take a multi vitamin and then a seperate calcium tablet to add because it is hard to get 1000 mg of calcium in one multi. The healthfood stores offer the best ones and you CAN get one that is only one a day. Calcium helps pms tremendously!! So look up what you need more of and tell the person there and they can help you find one or find a separate pill to help you with your needs. A B complex is a really good thing for women. I stay on it now but I took a stronger one after my baby.
Good luck.

Hi J.,
Yes I have a suggestion! Check out my website www.relivingsc.com I have been on this product for 14 years, all my friends use it as prenatals, I have it in Doctors offices as well. My 2 year old daughter even loves it AND she doesn't get sick...ever! This is the only complete balanced nutrition product out there. The formulation is patented which says it is one of a kind, it works and is SAFE. It is so much more than a vitamin pill or anything like that. Most pills don't even dissolve or absorb into your system and you may THINK you are doing something good for yourself. With this, you KNOW you are doing something because your body changes. It's about optimal nutrition, not just a little energy etc...

Check it out and you can contact me through MamaSource or www.relivingsc.com.

Have a great day!

Hi J.,

I take a vitamin from Melaleuca that is the therapeutic rather than the recommended amount but they are balanced not to give you more than what you can safely take. I also learned that independent studies showed them to be more absorbable for calcium and other minerals I need. Like you, I try to eat healthy but it's amazing how much better I feel taking the vitamins.

Here's a web site to check them out...www.losewhatcounts.com

Hi J.,
I am a mother of three daughters. I take OPC+ and find it
to be superior to anything I have ever taken and can tell you how to get it wholesale, but I would like to share some benefits. Increased energy, more restful sleep. A super antioxidant with 95% pure grape seed extract, acai berry & 95 mg of resveratrol and all the vitamins you need. It's in
an iso-Osmotic state. Sprinkle two scoops in two oz.of water let fizz and drink on empty stomach in the morning and
in 5-10 min it's in your system. Tastes like grape juice. I feel great all day. Lost some stomach fat also. after two weeks if you weigh less than 130 lbs cut back to one scoop. Children can take this. Go by weight. E-mail me if you have questions at ____@____.com To get wholesale go to www.isXperia.com/jj and join free and get wholesale. Price very reasonable and you can tell friends and retail are have them order from your website. Which is your url.

A vitamin is only a supplement. It's not meant to give you all of you daily requirements. That's why you have to eat a balanced diet in order for the foods you consume to fill in with the vitamin. I stick with one a day woman's and I take it in the morning after I eat breakfast.

Good luck

My favorite source for written nutritional information is Dr. Mercola at mercola.com. He markets a multivitamin on his site that is well-priced-- 30-40 a month. It's got vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, etc., pharmaceutical grade, whole food. You take 8 a day to get what you need.

My friend Rachel Smartt is a naturopathic doctor in Peachtree City. She has great advice on ways to personalize and optimize your eating. Because of her counsel, I've lost 20 pounds. She does free seminars, and phone consultations. Her number is ###-###-####. She also recommends nutritional support with Juice Plus, which is not a multivitamin, but rather whole food antioxidants. Juice Plus is about 40 a month, and is charged monthly. It also provides a phenomenal side business opportunity, if you could use extra income.

For vitamins, though, if you are looking for the highest end, clinically tested, pharmaceutical grade multi on the market, call Dr. Judy Chiger, MD, PhD. She offers USANA, which has phenomenal ingredient quality and extensive research behind it. Dr. Judy would know, she is board certified anesthesiologist AND has her doctorate in pharmacology. ###-###-####, also in Peachtree City, but you can order by phone. With shipping, USANA is about $50 a month.

If you talk to Rachel Smartt or Dr. Judy, be sure to tell them I sent you. They are both impressive women.

Yours, E.

We take Vemma. It's in a liquid form so it 100% absorbs into your body. Pills have a tendency to not break down all the way and pass right on through. Our whole family takes it and my kids LOVE it. Dr. Oz recommends it and my Doctor said it looks great.

I buy it from a woman I know in Colorado. She was a chef and nutritionist. Here is her info. She can answer any questions:

I personally have taken Shaklee's Vita Lea for 25 years now. Every time science shows we need more of something they reformulate it so it is the best it can be, keeping up with the new research that is being done all of the time. This includes the newest findings on vitamin D! It doesn't skimp on the more expensive B vitamins while putting in tons of the cheap ones just to make it look impresive. Shaklee is all about science. If you would like me to send you a copy of the label so you can compare just send me your regular e-mail and I will be happy to do so. It cost's about $10 a month to take so is quite resonable. You do take 2 a day, and women will need to take additional calcium but it is more complete than anything I have ever seen.

Sincerely,

K. B

We get much of what we need in our food. Unless you have a medical problem, just eat right and take a good multivitamin (like Centrum or even a prenatal) and you'll probably be just fine. If you want to take extra Calcium, take it at a different time than your multivitamin and take it with food.
