My 15 month old son has a stomach bug, he had diarrhea and vomit that started last friday.. he is better now, he is no longer vomiting and just poop 3 times today.. he has been complaining a lot and not wanting to do things he usually does or enjoys. He doesn´t want t take a bath, he cries and screams if I try, he also starts screaming if I take him to his room to put him to sleep... If I mention the diaper he also starts crying... he usually goes to sleep very easily, doesn´t complain about the diaper change and loves his bath... Is this normal.. is it because he is sick?. His dad has been away since last wednesday, could it be that he is missing him?

What can I do next?

Normal for a sick baby. My 17 month old grandson had strep last week.
Just did not want to do anything he normally like. First time he ever cried
when put down to change him. The only way he would nap was in my
arms so while he was with me I catered to his needs and just held and loved and hugged him. After 48 hours he was back to his old self.

I agree with Patty. Just hold him and don't make him bathe or sleep. If he doesn't want to be held, let him fuss and whine but stay close by. Be sympathetic. He feels rotten. If he's close to his Dad, he may be missing him too. He may want his Dad more because he doesn't feel good.

Very normal after being so ill.
They just do not realize they will get better.
When ill and out of control and off other schedules, they kind of revert into helplessness.

So as long as they feel puny, they want to be close to you. It will get better the better he feels.

Just keep trying to get him to try the bath.. Maybe you can take it with him. He may scream when you take him to his room, so you just have to reassure him and let him cry it out..

Are you sure he's not teething or having an ear infection or something like that? Ear infections are worse when they lie down....
Could it be something else medical? Any rash, fever, etc?
If not, his little world is upside down without dad....give him the old "hands, face, feet & bum wash down" every day and change his diaper as quickly as possible--can you do it with his standing up?
