Stress can make you skip but have you ever tried the birth control shot? When i was on birth control that is what i used but now i have 3 kids and have had my tubes tied. I am new to the area and my husband just got a job and i don't have one yet so i understand the stress but believe me it's easier with only 1 kid.

Just give the pils some time...they regulate your period. In my experience they are very effective...just make sure you take them EVERY DAY! I just had a baby in Jan...we are going for the sure thing...tubal.

Anyway GOOD LUCK!

Hi S.,

You are going through a lot right now, not only is your body going through changes physically, but mentally and emotionally you going through so much just as a new mother. Our hormones and emotions tend to still be adjusting to having had a baby.
Pills are actually the only birth control I had ever used. They are supposed to be 99.9% effective after a full cycle (28/30 days). There are exceptions like when you are on antibiotics, that can lessen the effectiveness. I was always told to go a full cycle after the antibiotics just to be on the safe side.
I would also contact the nurse at your doctor's office. Let her know what is going on. She may have some other advice or suggestions for you as well.

Best wishes,
A.

Dear S.,

Go see a doctor and tell him/her everything you wrote in your note. Of course you are stressed! After the birth of my second child I had very very heavy periods like what you are describing. Nothing was terribly wrong and my doctor worked with me to fix it. I don't think that periods are always regular for a while after a baby. You do need some help to cope with everything. Go get it!

I have an IUD, sometimes my period will skip because of stress. I would say take a test just to be sure. Good luck.

I assume you are not nursing, but I would first take a preg test, if negative I would call a nurse/doctor.

I don't know your situation with your boyfriend, but I have some wonderful relationship tapes by Gary Smalley (16 tapes). It did wonders for our marriage. I would be willing to let you borrow them. PM me if interested!

All the best, Liz

Father, S. is worried about a lot of things right now. She loves her children and wants what's best for them and for herself. I pray that you would speak your love to her and give her peace of mind. I ask that You would meet her needs as she asks you for them. I ask that You would be free to draw her to you when she feels alone and overwhelmed. Your compassion never fails and your mercy never ceases. I don't have all the right answers for S., I doubt anyone reading this forum does since we don't walk beside her, but You do. You want to answer her needs. You want to show her Your love. You want to help her. I know you can Lord because you have often done it for me. I pray that you would surround her with encouraging people who won't let her get discouraged as she walks through this time. I pray that She would find a safe place and time to talk to you and listen to you. Most of all I pray that you would love her and keep her encouraged and hopeful.

S. go see your doctor about the missed period and the other physical issues that are worrying you. That would be for your peace of mind and health. Lillith needs you, so your first priority is to your health. Second know that you are irreplaceable and there are things you contribute to your world that no one else can. You matter. I will continue to pray for you and Lillith. God is bigger than the situation even though I know it seems enormous. He has plans for you. Ask Him. You matter to Him and those who love you. You are valuable and important. If you need to talk I will listen and pray for you.

I am so sorry you are going through this! It is so hard when you don't have the 100% support from daddy. My husband and I took right at 5 months to get adjusted and half way back on track. Hang in there!
As far as being prego I would take a test, try not to stress just yet about it. If it is negative wait another week or atleast 4 days and take another. Still negative call your doctor and see if they have any recommendations.
Birth control is affective you do have to take it about the same time everyday and I believe they say to use back up the first 4-6 weeks. But nothing is 100% you know. If you are it may have happened while you had your iud it sounds like it was not put in properly. My sister had an iud and that sucker stayed in for 3 years no problems. Her and her husband decide to take it out and she had to go to the doc to have that done and she said it was quite unpleasant.

I wouldn't wait more than 2 weeks to call your doctor though.
Also your body is still trying to get back to normal after having a baby the birth control is adjusting as well so that maybe the problem as well.
Good luck to you and your family! Let me know if I can help! ( :

Hi S.- so sorry to hear about your medical dilemma. I think the only one who can give you a definitive answer that might ease your mind is a doctor. You should go and have it checked as soon as you can-it might help ease your stress. Good luck!
