Can I shampoo my mattress without ruining it? I have a blood stain on it and a spot where my son peed.

What can I do next?

I've used baby shampoo + windex, followed by bleach (applied with a Q-tip) on my mattress before to remove blood.

BL,
I was told if you lightly dampned the soil area and apply cornstarch over the moistened area, and place the mattress in the sun and let it completely dry and vaccum off the cornstarch the stain and odor would be gone. Hope this helps.

I've done it to clean up spots...I used the hand tool with a upholstery cleaner.. I have never shampooed the entire mattress or anything.

I cleaned my son's mattress (pee stain) by dousing it with OxyClean spray and a little water, and soaked as much of it out with a towel (by stepping on the towel) then scrubbed and blotted again. Left it out in the hot sun all day, and the stain was gone, and the mattress was dry.

I would recommend Oxyclean or Oxy Deep... that's the one you spray on stains on upholstry. Wait a few minutes and wipe with a cloth. It may not completely get rid of the stain but lighten it considerably.
