Washing Diaper Messes Out of Clothes

my sister is the "Queen of Clean" and i just asked her this same question. she says she swears by Oxy Clean. she has an old dish bucket that everyday has something soaking in it at one time or another. she keeps her kids clothes immaculate! she said the only time it hasn't worked is when she's forgotten it for too long.

What has worked is putting some perioxide on the spot and putting it out in the sun. Sounds strange but it works.

I use Mrs. Meyer's Baby Clean Day Stain Remover. It works like a charm.

I have found an answer for that tricky problem!! I bought Charlies Laundry Soap (from the internet and it is TOTALLY kid/sensitive skin safe)...anyways I put Charlies soap and a little oxyclean for babies (buy it at Babies R Us) in a bucket and I let it soak for an hour or till I am ready to put in a load of those same clothes and it totally comes out!! Just google Charlies Laundry Soap and they ship for free!! and its cheap!

I would take a little bleach add it to the detergent soap in a squirk bottle, pre spray it before its washed, double rinse the clothes so baby won't have a reaction to the bleach, my kids white clothes to this day sparkle when they are cleaned. With poo stains on color clothes I use a non cholrine bleach. Same thing I added some with the soap in a squirt bottle and pre treat before I washed them, hardly ever was a stain it would not remove.

I use Oxyclean Spray. Just spray it on and let it sit for a while and then clean as ususal. It has helped me get everything out! Sometimes I have to wash something more than once (and spray it too) but usually anything and everything comes out in time. Good luck! J.

My mom taught me this and I swear by it. Before you put any other product on it put perioxide on it. Perioxide will get out ANY mess (stool, urine, spit up, blood). It's amazing!!!

The only thing that works with my kids is Dreft. I don't use it as a laundry detergent, only the spray stain remover. I've tried other products and it is the ONLY thing that works for me. It's child safe too, so if they're wearing something and get a small spot on it, I can spray the dreft on a washcloth and wipe the stain out without having to change their clothes and spend 20 minutes rinsing!

Good morning. Try Melaluca "Mela Brite". It is a "brightner". I love it! It really works.

Here's something that may help you out, and I discovered accidentally after my husbands prolific nosebleed. Put a good amount of sudsing type ammonia in the washer with your detergent, and just let the clothing soak for an hour. Run the load through a regular cycle (no need to change the water). You cannot detect any ammonia smell on the clothing after, and it shouldn't be harmful in any way to your baby.

I've had excellent success with Dreft's stain remover. It comes in a spray bottle and I buy it at Babies R'Us. Yes, it is a little more expensive, but it works even on stains that are dry and several days old. Be sure to saturate the stain, then scrub fabric to fabric. I wash my son's clothes in cold water and all the stains have come out.

Try Dreft Stain Remover. It's the best for all kinds of baby/toddler stains! My son is 3.5 years old and it's all I've used since he was born - for ALL my laundry! When my son has a stain I just spray the area right away and throw it in the hamper to be washed with my next load. But with poopie and throw up when he was a baby, I tended to wash things immediately. It even got an old set-in stain out of one of my favorite sweatshirts! I swear I'll never use anything else. You can buy it at Target - $2.99 for a 22 oz. bottle. And remember, with white clothes - sometimes there's just nothing you can do!!

Zout works the best for us. It gets out lots of stains.

When my daughter was an infant (before Zout days) I used to get the article of clothing wet, apply lemon juice to the stain and hang dry in the sun. It's a natural approach and works, if it's sunny!

FYI - Another stain remover for other things like grease or oil is Dawn dish soap. It not only cuts the grease on dishes, but does on clothes too! Try it, it works! The next time you have a dark spot on a dark article of clothing, apply Dawn, let it soak in for a minute or two and wash. No need for scrubbing on this one!

The best advice I got about this is using the power of the sun - if the stains are from a breastfed only baby, if you wash the garments and let them dry in the sun, the stain will be gone completely. It's like magic! I didn't believe it would, but it worked. It's similar to how light therapy works on jaundiced babies - something to do with the bilirubin in the body. Regardless of how, it works!

If you fill up your sink with the hottest water you can and put like a cup of Oxy Clean (I buy it at Costco for this reason) and leave it at least 24 hours! You should be perfect. I have been doing this to all of my daughters clothes for 2.5 years now and it has never failed me. The only time I had a problem was one Nartje top that kinda got tie died from the Oxy Clean, other than that I have put anything and everything in it this way and have been thrilled. I buy super expensive clothes for my daughter so I freak out when she stains them right away. This has worked like a charm. Good luck.

I my name is M.. I used a product called Dreft. Get the area wet, scrub in some dry Dreft, dampen more as needed, let set for a while. Wash with the rest of your whites. If it still doesn't come out, and you can safely use a little Clorox on the garment, then dilute the Clorox as 1 part Clorox and 4 parts water and soak the area for maybe 2 minutes then wash immediately. Make sure that you put the garment directly into water and not onto other dry clothes. The Clorox will do it's damage to anything it touches. Good Luck!

Zout is the best....gets stuff out shout, spray n wash does not. Can get at market or target. Spray on immediately...even on set in stains and leave for a few hours/overnight then wash. I have 4 kids...takes out almost everything!

my son could not keep i"it" off his cloths. So I tryed everything Also. Then I found the answer at the 99 cents store. Its called Soilove laundry soil-stain remover. I would put it on as soon as I rinced it and everything would come out. It is grate i use it on my 8yr old to. It is in a green bottle. hope this helps.

I've had really good luck with Shout. If the stain is especially bad, let it soak for an hour or so before washing it. If it doesn't come out the first time, Shout it and wash it one more time before drying it. (once it goes through the dryer, the stain is set forever)

Coke will take it right out. Pour on some Coke and let it sit for a few minutes. Then spray some Shout on it and it will be all gone. Kind of makes you never want to drink Coke again...Ha ha!

I go for the peroxide. It really does work, even on old stains. Just let it sit and it washes right out.

R., I used to wash the whites in bleach. Make sure you rinse, and rinse and rinse again! I would sacrifice the water and time for sterilized whites for my baby. Infact, most of his clothes were white and organic cotton. Saves alot of money buying new onesies when they grow so darn fast out of them. That way, when you pass them on to friends w/younger childred, they still look great and they're extra clean!

I always soak the soiled clothes in oxyclean for a day before washing. If the stain is still there after the wash cycle soak it one more time this time rubbing some of the oxyclean on to the spot itself. If you put it in the dryer before the stain is completely gone, the heat will permanently set it.

try oxyclean. Spray on when you get home and let sit. Before bed fill the sink with water and let it soak over night. In morning...or the next day when you get a chance, scrub and add more oxyclean if needed. Repeat process if necc. Good luck.

I use shout action spray for diaper messes or spit up on my daughter's clothes. I have tried everything & it works the best.

This probably sounds a little old fashioned, but it works really well. If you can put the outfits out in the sun for a few hours - I usually do this straight from the washer - the stains will be gone!!

After rinsing the dirty clothes, soak in a solution of white vinegar and water. Then wash as usual.

Try washing them with regular detergant, no liqued, use powder.

I used Baby Dreft stain remover and it worked great on my little guy's onesies. He is a breastfed baby and we had many "blow outs" as I like to call them - hahahaha. And thankfully, the Baby Dreft stain remover removed the stains from his white onesies.

I have the same problem! The best stain remover I have found is Dreft stain remover but even then it doesn't always work. Let me know if you discover anything!!

I swear by OxyClean spray. It gets EVERYTHING out and leaves whites whiter than when they were new! And no, I don't work for the company, I just have children.

My hubby and I (he's actually better at it than I!), swear by Baby Oxy & soaking. We stain treat first w/ Shout, then rub Baby Oxy directly on the stain too, then let it soak in the washer w/ more Baby Oxy. We've gotten out almost all poop stains, and most milk/spit-up stains this way.

This stuff is like magic and will remove almost any stain as long as you get the soap straight onto the stain asap, right after shaking out the stool and rinsing clothes in toilet.
best to use the cold water with it.

put the soap on and let it sit for a minutes then scrub and rinse.

you are going to have to scrub. if you are looking for something that will make it possible not to scrub, i'm sorry, but this ain't it, lol!

I swear by OxyClean. It's saved clothes I thought would be doomed to the trash can. I just soak the clothes in a diluted solution of OxyClean for a few hours before washing. It even works on stains that I didn't catch that get through the dryer. It doesn't seem to affect the colors, either.

Use OXY Clean. I swear by this stuff. I started using it 8 years ago on formula stains and this product is just great! Now that we have graduated to grass stains it is even better. I use it in every wash when it comes to my sons clothing.

Oxy Clean and Tide with bleach together work wonders

Keep a pail of water with Dreft in it by the washer and as soon as you remove any clothing put it in the bucket to soak until it goes into the washer.

Nothing gets out baby poop stains quite like putting them in the sun- it is like magic. Wash as usual and set in full sun to dry if you can. As long as you haven't dried the stain in with the dryer, it will usually fade right out in the sun. Soaking overnight with a scoop or two of oxiclean works wonders too.

I know you already have a ton of responses, but wanted to share with everyone a "Miracle" soap. One of my colleague's told me about a soap that is made in the south of France - using the original recipe which includes only natural ingredients (no detergents). It worked to get out poop stains from clothes that had been dried in the dryer. It is called Savon de Marseille - and can be purchased through Amazon. I would recommend either bar of soap (original palm oil or olive oil). They also sell a liquid hand soap which is wonderful if you wash your hands a lot and get dried/cracked skin.

I use our Shaklee Get Clean Nature Bright stain remover. I soak the clothes in a couple of tablespoons of this powder in with the wash water (presoak in washing machine 30 minutes before load). I rarely have any trouble at all. It whitens everything and does a great job at getting stains out. I also use our Shaklee Get Clean liquid laundry detergent as a pretreater because it has a spot remover built in. Wonderful stuff and completely all natural and non toxic so safe for babies. =) Hope that helps. Yes, soaking them in cold water asap is key. Then, I found a bar soap used for laundry called Lirio that I hand wash the clothes with afterwards before putting them in the washing machine works really well. If you have trouble finding it (it's usually sold in little Mexican markets), after soaking them and washing in cold water, take a bucket of HOT water and mix a scoop of Oxy Clean powder and soak the clothes in there for 2 hours. Then, put in the washing machine per normal. The key is before putting the clothes in the dryer, check to see if the stains came out. If not, repeat the steps because once they've gone in the dryer, the stains will never come out again.

Try oxyclean. Put it in the sink or a bucket with the hottest tap water you can get. Let it sit at least over night. If it is a really bad stain, you can actually let it soak for few days - just change out the water and oxyclean each day. When you are done soaking it, you can drain the sink and throw the clothes in the washer or if you've used a bucket, dump the whole thing into the washer. If it is still dirty or stained, repeat. I've gotten out horrible stains that way. I've even gotten out spaghetti sauce that didn't come out and had already gone through the dryer (which really sets stains!)

If you are having diaper blow outs regularly, you might need to try a different brand of diapers or go up a size. Also, once the diaper is on, reach your finger in and pull out the little elastic tabs things around the leg openings of the diapers. If you do that consistently, it really helps keep everything INSIDE the diaper. Diaper blow outs are no fun.

If you are just breast feeding and you have the yellow stains they come out by just letting them dry in direct sunlight which bleaches them out nicely.

I have done this and it worked some of the times, wet area that is soiled, place a small amount of the laundry soap you use, usually Tide works best, and rub. oxyclean works wonders! you can use it as a presoak or just throw in a scoop with each load. I always add a scoop to my kids loads because you never know what's on their clothes!

OxiClean versatile stain remover. I even used it to remove red wine from my husbands favorite dress shirt, soaked it over night and the stain was gone. I rub a bit in the area then soak the cloth overnight or just throw a bit of the soap in with the wash after had rubbing the stain.

I found a combo that works for me about 95% of the time. I spray the stain with OxiClean stain remover and then throw it in a bucket of water with powdered OxiClean and let it soak until I do laundry. It does great on all kinds of stains, including blood.

I rinse them out asap and then I soak them in Biz water. It does seem to help!!!

I've found that Zout works the best! It's a red bottle that you can find in Tareget. Good Luck!

OXY CLEAN, OXY CLEAN, OXY CLEAN!!!! Use the full strength powder, not the one for babies (I don't think it works as well - nor do I really care for the spray). I usually soak my daughter's (15 mos) stained clothes overnight or all day while I'm at work, then toss in the wash with a 2nd rinse. When I soak them, I usually use 1-2 scoopes (depending on how big my soak load is) then put them in the kitchen sink with just enough water to cover them all. Don't worry if when you rinse them out it looks like it is still there, it will continue working its magic in the washing machine. When she was just 3 months old, she had 2 major blow outs in the same outfit (didn't have a change of clothes that day)....so it was probably 3-4 hours before I could soak it and after it was finished soaking and washing, you couldn't tell there had been a problem! I almost tossed that outfit too! I also toss a scoop of oxy clean in with each load of her laundry. Keeps everythink looking brand new and the color it should be. GOOD LUCK!

R., Try Oxy Clean powder, Goo-Gone or Clorox 2 liquid to pre-treat the stain. Then wash as soon as possible, sometimes the stains just don't budge!

I swear by the Baby Oxy Clean! You can get it at the grocery store, and I swear it really gets stains out!!!

At any 99 cents store, you can purchase "Awesome". You can buy the one for laundry or just get the original one. Either one works! It works for soooo many things! I love it! I would think it would okay at full strength, but, you can also dilute it with some water. Good luck!

Baby Oxyclean works really well with getting stool stains out. I usually put it directly on the stain while wet, rub and then let it sit for a while. Last let is soak in the washer for about 5 10 minutes or so. Once it's washed the stain is usually gone. Good luck. V.

Oxy Clean will do wonders! I bought the bucket of the powder. I would scrub the mess out and then in an empty bucket (the soaking bucket) I would put the amount suggested into the water in it and soak the clothing. I've NEVER had stains in the clothing. That stuff is awesome!!! I tell everyone what a miracle that stuff is!

Oh yes, I also bought some spray bottles from home depot and made spot spray from the powder with it. You can buy the spray bottles, but if you end up with the powder and do the soaking method you will always be able to make spot spray for things that may need it. Plus it is cheaper that way too.

try Soil Love - it is the bet stain remover ever. You can find it at the grocery store and some 99cent stores.

Use Clorox, it removes stains from everything. Merely get a pail and put some bleach in and and then the diapers, you don't need much water. Don't let it stand in the bleach too long, only until the stains are removed, because it will deteriorate the fabric.

Oxy-Clean! It's pretty amazing what gets clean. It's even removed 10 year old stains from hand-me-down baby clothes. I'm not especially good at catching all the stains and treating asap, so I soak the clothes in an Oxy-clean solution before laundering in regular (currently using Tide but am switching to Kirkland unscented) laundry detergent. With clothes, like diaper covers, that I know have been soiled, I do a cursory scrub with Woolite (because that's just what I have handy upstairs), then soak in a Woolite/Oxy-Clean solution until I'm ready to do laundry. I've found Dreft to not clean very well. If your baby has sensitive skin, I've heard that All unscented works well as detergent too.

I generally soak them in water amd try to get the bulk stain off immediately. Then I put them in the washer(still wet) and wash them with Dreft. It seems to work for me.

"OxyClean Baby" has worked great on all of my 10-month old daughter's "blow-outs." I soak the soiled clothes as soon as possible in a bucket with one scoop of OxyClean and water. I let the clothes soak for a long time - usually overnight - sometimes even 2 days if I just don't have time to get back to it. By the time I get back to it, the stains are usually gone. If not, I rub the soiled part of the fabric together a little bit which so far has removed any remaining stains. After that I launder the clothes just like I regularly would. So far, none of her clothes have been permanently stained and she has had many, many "blow-outs!" I've been able to find "OxyClean Baby" at Target and Babies R Us. Target's price is better.

You can try using peroxide and allowing the items to soak once you spot the stains once removed wash the item as normal by the way congrats on the baby girl, I am a mom of four aging from 23 yrs to 14 yrs and granda ma of a 4 week old grandson

"One word" DRIFT", I have three children, my oldest is "29" and my youngest is 18". It not only gets the stains out, it keeps the smelling baby fresh too!

spray the stain w/ spray n' wash (saturate it) then pour a lot of oxyclean on it. let it stand overnight then wash like normal w/ all the oxyclean still on it. this works on stains that have already been washed, too.

Totally Toddler Stain and Prewash is amazing at removing those stains. They carry it at Babies R Us. I put that in a spray bottle and use it as a prewash and have been amazed at the stuff it gets out. Good luck.

There is a product called "Kids & Pets" It is the best at getting out stains of any sort. It is a natural enzyme that is completely non toxic and safe to use on just about anything. It has worked great at getting the stains from my son's "blow outs" I rinse out his onsies, then saturate it with kids & pets and wash when I'm ready for a full load. It has even taken out old stains I didnt think would come out.
I also use this on my carpet, furniture, and it takes the odors away....like when my older son wets the bed, I've used it on his mattress...cleans and neutralizes the odor.
You can find this @ wal mart, or Target, I've even picked some ____@____.com with the cleaning products.

I soak all of my daughter's clothes overnight in oxi-clean. They make a baby version... it's available at Target.

Breastfed "diaper messes" can come out but I have friends that formula fed and I think that may be a lost cause!

Buy ZOUT. Available at all drug stores and Target.

Try good old-fashioned white bar soap. Rub it on the stain in the sink and let it sit for a little while. Rinse and repeat if necessary. That's how my mother-in-law taught me, and it works better than any spray stain remover!

I don't know about diaper messes, but I read a hint form Heloise many years ago that I used for my baby clothes, and it worked wonders - you might try it. (This was for food stains, but it might be worth a try if you are desperate and nothing else works) She said to wash stained baby clothes (in the washer) with bleach and dishwasher detergent. The dishwasher detergent has bleach in it also, so you are not mixing chemicals, you won't make fumes (be sure to check the label first if you are concerned). And be careful with colors. Some were fine, but I had a blue bib that turned white. But if it's stained, and you wouldn't use it otherwise, it might be worth the chance . . . One other thing, I also read somewhere many years ago that detergent can undermine the effectiveness of bleach, so use the bleach (and dishwasher detergent) before you wash the clothes, as a pre-wash (duh! hope that didn't sound too stupid or redundant). And lastly, if you are concerned about the chemicals in your baby clothes, what I did instead of buying Dreft (with my baby clothes) was after I had washed them, to put them through an entire wash cycle with water only to rinse all the detergent out of their clothes.

Hello, I have a two year old son, and boy it's hard to get stains out but what I found that works the best and is absolutely great at getting stains out is the spray oxy clean. Just spray it on and rub it on the stain and let it set for a few minutes and wash. It should come right out. It works great for me, hope this helps you!

get some oxyclean. it is the absolute best. my son pooped on a light blue outfit and i wasn't home and my husband rinsed it off which didn't really do anything then put it in the laundry and it didn't get washed for about a week. i soaked it in the oxy clean solution then put oxy clean in the washer with my load of clothes and also detergent and it came right out. this stuff seriously works and you can use it on any load with any type of water and also it has other uses other than laundry. btw, i use the powder. it lasts longer. hope this helped!! There's a GREAT stain remover called "Mother's Little Miracle- stain & odor remover & prewash." And yes, it's child safe, non-toxic etc. It's gets out feces, spit-up, food, urine etc.
I've used this ever since I had my first child. I love it. It works real well. I buy it at a local store here, so I don't know but perhaps you can find it online as well. I also use this in combination (for tougher stains) with the "Tide To Go" instant stain remover sticks. Which ever of these stain removers I use, I apply it then let it sit awhile, then go in and clean it with a damp sponge (if its on the carpet or furniture) or throw it in the wash.

Try liquid dishwasher soap on the white onesies and then throw in the wash...worked wonders on ours!

Spray and wash doesn't work very well! I use shout and a toothbrush to scrub the stain after spraying the shout on it and i takes everything out, even red dirt spots that are ground in. you just have to scrub a little harder with the toothbrush. Give it a try. I swear by shout. You don't even have to soak the clothes, if you don't want to, or just can't at that particular time. It works wonders.

I swear by Soilove purchased from the 99 cent chain store. They come in 3 diff bottles. Make sure u get the green one. It's equally important to wear gloves else it will eat your skin! This thing works better than any stain remover I've ever tried (soiled white onesies, food, bloodstain even). It works so well I didn't have to rinse or soak soiled clothes immediately. Whenever I do laundry, I put the stain remover on where it needs, rub the fabric together and rinse under a cold faucet. This gets the stains out 99.9% of the time. Good luck.

Keep clothes wet until ready to launder. Use 409 and wash in cold water with Dreft or whatever detergent you use. Repeat until stain is gone. DO NOT put in dryer until stain is gone. Once it's dried, the stain is set. Works 95% of the time on most stains. It's a trick I learned from my mother in law.

i can vouch for peroxide being a great cleaner. and i'm sure that oxyclean has some peroxide in it, but is probably more costly than drugstore brand peroxide.

I've used the Dreft spray, and it seems to work well. I soak the fabric where the stain is while the stain is still fresh, let it sit for at least 10 minutes, and then wash the clothing as usual.

Ha ha, this made me laugh, because I was just bemoaning the fact that my life sometimes seems to revolve around my battle with those bright yellow stains! I use Shout Advanced, really hot water, and lots of elbow grease. That said, the pastel cotton outfits are probably the hardest, it might not all come out. For the white ones I use those bleach pens and rinse like CRAZY cause I don't want any of that left on it. Fuzzy fleece outfits are easy to wash, but unfortunately it's usually too hot for those now....
I do have a hard callous on my index finger now that's just from scrubbing my son's outfits. I guess I chalk it up to another "post-baby body" thing, lol!

Sounds weird but after laundering let the onesie dry in the sun, it bleaches the stain even more. I tried it figuring what could it hurt and it actually worked!

Make a paste out of oxy clean and hot water and spread it over the stain. Let it sit over night and it will get the poop stain out. Good luck!!

You should be careful about using things like Spray n Wash and bleach. I only use Dreft soap to wash my baby's clothes and then do a double rinse. I breast fed my baby for 13 months. So, she had quite a few diaper blowouts. My best advice is to go one size up in the diapers (i.e., if her weight puts her in a size 2 diaper, buy size 3). You'll have way less blowouts.

When my girls were babies, I like you tried everything under the sun..finally what worked were two different things. First I would use Clorox Stain Out (you can get this at Albertsons).Make sure you spray it on good and let it soak for a few minutes before washing it. I know all the "stain removers" are supposed to be the same, but to me this one still rules in our house today!! My oldest is 15 years old!! If the stain was requiring more, I would then put "Soilove" Laundry Soil Stain remover on it to soak for a few minutes and then wash it again. If it is still a problem, especially with white things, you can bleach it out, just make sure you then wash it a second time in regular laundry soap to remove all the bleach chemicals that could irritate babies skin.

My experiences...I hate spray and wash. It has never worked for me. I LOVE Zout! Zout comes in two forms - a spray and a squeeze form. I use both depending on the stain. I then use a toothbrush (my friend uses a fingernail brush) to rub the stain treatment into the stain. I've also been known to leave a Biz paste on a stubborn stain. I'm not 100% successful, but I've been commended how clean I keep my kids clothes. Just wait until your baby girl starts eating! I now struggle with preschool stains (my 3-year-old loves to paint!) and elementary school blacktop stains on the knees of my 6-year-old sons uniform pants. YUCK!

Have you tried OXYCLEAN? I use it all the time, for really stubborn stains, I soak in the washer overnight and then wash in the morning as usual. They come out beautiful looking like new with out using bleach! Since yourprecious baby girl is so young, I would add an additional rinse after soaking then follow with regular wash cycle. We use cloth diapers and have no stains. Wash with baking soda and line dry in the sun. The sun works as an amazing whitener. Even if the onesie comes out of the wash looking stained after being in the sun it'll be gone.

Try using Dreft spray. It works on everything (well it did for me) even on formula stains.

My mother-in-law sent me some lye soap and it really works on those stubburn poopy stains. I didn't want to use it at first but once I tried it, I was amazed how it removed those tough stains. I usually run the piece of clothing under cold water and rub the soap on the spot and then I rub the garment together. Then I just throw it in the washer with the rest of her clothes.

my mother in law recommended a combo product that is half spray and wash half oxy clean. The bottle is literally half and half. It is white and pink. The stuff works really well. Even took a stain out that had made it through the dryer.

R., I was introduced to this product through my parents dogs. In the pet store there are products that use enzymes to clean up dog messes. It works on grass stains, blood as well as poop and pee. It even cleaned up berry stains on carpet. The one that seems easiest to find is Natures Miracle. The best part of these products is that the enzymes combine with the mess. It changes them chemicly so that they are no longer whatevr they started as. Also it is very easy to use. Spray on enough to soak then let it dry.

Just put them in a warm water bleech wash, Once it has agiatated a little turn the machine off for 10, 15 minutes, then continue washing. always use a second rinse cycle when using bleech on childrens clothing, and use the fabric softner in second rinse. My babies clothes were never stained with this method. been a mom for 24 years. J.

The best thing to use, and I know this sounds crazy...is called Folex. It's in a white spray bottle with purple writing. It says carpet cleaner on it (which also works wonders) but I promise you. It saved all my babies clothes!And she was a bit of a sickee.

I had a lot of stains to clean up when my son was a bit younger as he had chronic ear infections and the anti-biotics that he was on would make for one big mess and I found that Shout worked the best. Be sure though, that you let the shout soak into the clothing and then wash. I also add bleach to my whites which will make sure to get any yellow residue stains out. It has worked wonders for me and saved me tons of money not having to buy a new wardrobe for my son after every ear infection. Hope this helps...

The main key is getting it in water immediately. Make sure you use cold water, not warm or hot it will set the stain. I have had great luck with that. I also use spray and wash dual power and have not had a stain yet. Hope this helps and good luck to you. I have a little one who will be 3 months on March 5th. : ) Fun being a first time mommy!

I had the same problem with my little girl when she was the same age, I tried everything - but I found that Oxyclean (the powder) solved the problem, put Oxyclean in a bucket with water and let the clothes soak in it for the day it really takes any stain away it's magic!!!

For white onesies, I've used a combination of OxiClean and bleach for a soak. It works pretty well if you catch it early.

SUN!!! rinse the diaper in cold water after the mess. wash it in warm as usual. then let it dry with the sun beating down on it. this has completely taken care of many stains for us. long-time set in stains might be more stubborn though.
