My daughter got purple playdoh flattened into the carpet. Playdoh website says wait for it to dry and then remove with a stiff brush. Problem is where I live is so humid I have been waiting for more than 2 weeks for the stuff to dry and it hasn't. I tried a hair dryer, a fan and leaving the light on. Nothing has dried it. I have very light cream carpet. Anyone have any suggestions how to get it up?

Try Solumel. It's a Melaleuca product - amazing cleaner!! It actually removes permanent ink marker from carpet and vinyl, etc....It's a dilutable product, so try it full strength. Contact me on where to find it. It's toxin, and chemical free - completely safe to use in your home and around your kids.

Maybe try pouring salt on it to absorb some of the moisture?

What about placing a towel over it and a bag of ice on top so that its not getting any more moist than what it is? That way the ice is speeding up the process of it stiffening?

Remove as much of it as possible with a carpet brush, then use some uncolored DAWN dish soap on it. Work it in with the brush and it should loosen up the remaining playdough. After the playdough is gone, rinse the carpet well to remove all the soap. You may want to borrow or rent a steam carpet cleaner to finish cleaning it.

Just a warning, if your carpet is Scotchgarded, you may need to reapply the scotchgard after the carpet is dry. The soap can remove it.

Another idea is olive oil. It doesn't work as well, and you will have to clean your carpet afterwards(with carpet cleaner), but it doesn't ruin your scotchgard.

I have no idea if this will work or not but since peanut butter is a sticky substance and the best way to get it out of your hair is to put ice on it, try putting ice on the playdoh, it should harden right up, then you can scrape it out.
