Pediatrician in Southside Indy

My children both see Dr. Shanna Bowman in Dr. Kidd's office. It's off of SR 135 and Fairview across from the firestation. The number is ###-###-#### if you'd like to call her. She's wonderful!!

I usually just read stuff on mamasource, I've never given advice but i had to reply to this just because I seen someone referred Dr Kidd's office!

Dr Kidd USED to be a WONDERFUL doctor! My mother in law worked for him for several years before she moved to Florida to retire. Because she had worked there I took my sons to him and felt I could trust him with him knowing my family and all.

My (now 6 year old) son was in the hospital a few years ago after seeing Dr Kidd on a friday and him saying he was ok, just had a flu and to give OTC meds for fever and cough. He was in the hospital the next day with bronchitis,pneumonia and critical low potassium. He was on oxygen and breathing treatments every four hours.

THEN!!! Dr Kidd came into the hospital room that following Monday morning before he went into the office to see scheduled patients. Well my son had pulled out his IV from his arm during the night while he was sleeping. Dr. Kidd didn't even notice during his exam! (We had been asleep when the dr came in so I didn't notice yet. )

I noticed a few minutes after he left the room because I seen dried blood all over my son's arm and when I picked him up he was soaked from all the IV fluids pumping into his bed... HOW COULD A DR MISS THAT when he was suppose to be giving him an exam? I called his office once he got in that day and told them how disappointed I was with him and I got a new doctor right away. This was not the first time they told me my son just had a cold or flu and he ended up in the hospital over it so I was done with dr Kidd and his office for good! The other time he ended up in the hospital another dr in his pratice said the same thing before we was admitted thru ER..

My mother in law said he used to be wonderful when my husband and his brothers were children ( 30 Years ago.) but at is point he just needs to retire. He’s old and the kids are just his pension to him now. My mother-in-law will still tell you still loved working for him and resects him as a person but even agreed she thought it was time I got a new doctor.

My two kids, my brothers four kids and my sisters new baby all go to dr Gregory Smith near Community South. The phone number is ###-###-####. I have only had him for a couple years but my brothers has had him for several and none of us have had any problems!

I'm not sure if you've already chosen a doctor, but I would recommend Southpointe Pediatrics. They are off of County Line Rd between Shelby and 31. My daughter is almost 4 months old, and we've not had any problems so far. I've always gotten a phone call back within 2 hours of calling with a question. There's 3 doctors there. Two are male, one is female. I'm not sure what kind of insurance you have, but they take all that I know of, even Medicaid.

My husband and I moved to the southeast side of town, Camby, 2 years ago and our daughters pediatrician was on the northwest side of town. I received a good recommendation from a co-worker. She recommended Greenwood Pediatrics. They are off of 31 and Frye Road. They are in the phone book. So far they have been great and we are very pleased with them. Good Luck.

I have a wonderful Pediatrician at IU Medical Group on Banta Road. The doctor is Dr. Vik, she's a woman doctor and my 8 year old just loves her. I also have a 5 mth. old and she's just great with her as well. I've been with her for almost 4 years. She always asks me if I have questions and never rushes me out. In fact, when we have an appt. She will even accomadate me and come in at 7:30 am so I can get in before my husband goes to work. I hope this helps.
