I'm wanting to price compare Oceans of Fun season passport prices to those of outdoor water parks that are closer to me. A friend mentioned that there are smaller outdoor water parks in the Olathe/OP area, but I can't find any reference to them when searching - all I get with Google is Oceans of Fun and Great Wolf Lodge. Does anyone know of outdoor water parks in the JoCo area (beyond city pools)?
Prairie Village Pool, at 75th and Mission is wonderful. They have several pools, and slides.

Olathe Used to have a waterpark but I do believe it closed some time ago. They do have several public swimming pools that you can get family season passes to for a lot less than Oceans of Fun http://www.olatheks.org/Residents/Recreation/recreation_l...
. Super Splash is a lot cheaper than Oceans of Fun and a little closer, but I have not been there to tell you if it is any good or not. I used to live in Olathe and now live in Raytown so I am familiar with the area. If you live in Olathe, the Water Park was where the Target is at about 155th street and 169 hwy where they built all those new shops and restraunts.
Just thought I would add that if you are considering any of the municipal pools - be sure and look at their attendance policies...Some cities are pretty strict about 'residents and guests only'...I believe Shawnee won't allow you in w/out being with a resident if you aren't a resident. I think Merriam also limits the number of non-residents who can swim. (That may just apply to purchasing passes--I don't know that they check ID at the door)
If you ever find yourself looking for something indoors = the Matt Ross Community Center has a great pool.....hot tub, slide, lazy river ($7 - daily pass for the facility)
Gardner has a great water park and it is $5 it is a lot of fun!!!
In Shawnee there is the Shawnee pool that is at Johnson Drive and Pflumm. It has 2 water slides, lazy river and a really neat little kids area. There is also a new Shawnee pool near Flint and Johnson Drive, in front of Wonderscope called Splash Cove. It is super neat with a small wave pool, 2 waterslides and a neat playgym in the water. they have a great aquatic center in gardner and also desoto but the one in gardner is great my kids and i both love it they have the lazy river where they supply the rafts for you to just layback and relaxim not sure of the number but if you look up aquatic centers you might have some luck.

Gardner has a nice aquatic center with a lazy river, three slides, including on that you come down on a raft, and a zero entry kids area. I think the cost id $5 a day.
