A great place to get your car worked on by an honest good person is Cal's auto repair in Merriam KS. He is the spouse of my longtime friend and daycare provider! I have 3 kids, 23, 12 & 8 and she watched all three of them when they were small. Potty trained all three!! Cal is the best. He will treat you fair and not try to take advantage like a lot of those repair shops. Give him a call. Let him know that Deb sent you!

I don't know where you live but if you live close to raytown Eagle brake and muffler is a great place. I have been going to them for about 20 years and my parents went to them for about 20 they are honest I think that they may have some kind of payment plan you would need to check

My brother is a mechanic at a shop in Shawnee, but also does it on the side. This enables hime to do it a lot cheaper. Not sure where you are in the metro but All Tune and Lube in Olathe on 135th & Mur-Len is great and very reasonable. Dan is great and will not try and screw you over b/c you are a woman.

I'm not sure where your located but Pleasant Valley Baptist ###-###-#### ) in Liberty, MO offers an outreach to the community where they have a certain evening that mechanics will do repairs on vehicles. I'm not sure if there is any fee involved but I'm sure if you called you could get more information. Good luck and keep your chin up!

Check craigslist in the "services" under auto. You may find a mechanic needing to make some extra money, espec. with the holiday season. It's always cheaper if you buy the parts yourself, shops add a service charge to parts. So that way you would buy the parts and just have a mechanic put them on.
