Ok Mamasourcers. I've lost a lot of weight and need some help on finding jeans. My biggest problem is that once i find something to fit over my butt, they are huge in the waist and gap open badly. I used to wear Blue in the Right Fit Jeans from Lane Bryant but now, I'm shopping in regular size stores and am having really bad luck in trying to finde jeans. So, i'd appreciate hearing what other moms with this same issue are buying.

What can I do next?

Congrats on your new body! I don't know if it's still there, but there was a boutique in the Grapevine Mills mall. I'm sorry, but I don't remember the name of the store. It was near Journey's. They used to display their jeans along the back wall. Another option would be to have your jeans taylored.

Dillard's (and other stores) have "Not My Daughter's Jeans" that are good for that. However, they cost about $100 I think. I like the stretch and feel of them beause they are as comfortable as wearing flannel (no binding or stiffness).

An Oprah show lately raved about two jeans for curvy women. One was $100 area and another, (Lee_) was about $40. If you go to her website, I'm sure they'll list the names and models there.

I am a personal shopper and have worked with women in your situation (curvy going from plus sizes to regular sizes). Most of the big chain stores make a 'curvy' jean, but some are curvier than others. I think Ann Taylor Loft's jeans have the biggest difference between hips and waist. We have also had luck at Eddie Bauer. Lee is good too.

There is a brand called Little in the Middle. I haven't tried them, but their website gives a lot of detail. I keep thinking I will try them with my next very curvy client.

Keep in mind tailoring too. Buying a size for your hips and taking it in at your waist, may save you time and headaches. This 'fix' should only run around $10.

If you do some shopping, here are a few deals going on:
Ann Taylor Loft: Buy one jean, get the second pair 50% off.
Gap & Old Navy: Gap's Get & Give coupon going on this weekend. Do a search or visit my website for the link.
Levi's:40% off sale today.
Good Luck! H. (hillarygorman.com)
