I have been looking for a pair of jeans to fit me good and have had no luck!!!! I gained a LOT of weight when I was pregnant for my 1st and am just now losing it and she will be 9!!! I have lost 85lbs in the past year!! I have not had a pair of jeans that I loved since before I had her and would love to find a pair before the holidays since I will be seeing lots of family I have not seen!

Anyways, I think so far I look best in the lower waist not super low tho! I still am by no means skinny, so I would like to find a pair that would stay tighter in the legs with a boot cut or flare but not as tight around the waist! I still have some what of a belly and if they are to tight that just isnt attractive!! Whenever I buy a size that isnt way to tight in the gut area and with in an hour they are baggy and make my legs look 2x bigger than they really are!! Does anyone else have this problem and can help me PLEASE!!! All I can find is people the other way around! bigger legs and small waist! I wear a size 12 if that helps anyone to help me!! I loved these American Eagle boyfriend cut jeans but they have stretched out so bad I dont even have to unbutton them to pull them off!! PLEASE give any advise!!! thank you sooooo much!!

What can I do next?

Congratulations! I like Riders Jeans by Lee. They are carried at Wal-Mart and Kmart for about $20.00 a pair. You can also sometimes find them at Big Lots for $10.00 a pair they come in different styles and fits. You could also go to a local Good Will store or Salvation Army Store or consignment shop and try on jeans until you find a pair that you like. Often they will have a large selection of different brands at great prices and won't have to spend a lot of time driving from one store to the next or waiting for the jeans to come in the mail - not to mention shipping charges. Once you find the jeans for you then you can find out who carries them and look for the best price. You might even continue to keep an eye out for more pairs at the local Good Will, Salvation Army, or consignment store where you found them. Good Luck!

I like Levi's 529 jeans. "Curvy cut", is what they are called. They allow for a little bigger waist and hips, but don't gap in the back. They are a med. rise, and I like mine bootcut. I've had a big rear all my life, it doesn't matter if I was a size 6 or 16... my rear is big. So these have been the first jeans I've liked the way they fit since I've had my kids. Try to stay away from flare... they will make your legs look shorter. Try straight leg or a slight bootcut to get a straighter line on your leg.

I just lost weight and was a size 12 and the most comfortable jeans I ever wore was Gap. I just sold them on ebay or Id offer them to you. They fit my curves perfectly. I even wore them right after I had my son. Gap jeans come in different cuts to fit different body styles. I have curvy hips so Im an "R" cut but there are other cuts for different women. Go to the store and try them on and if you cant afford the $60 price tag get on ebay and buy them thats what I did.

My advice is to go to the Gap and try on a few different styles of jeans. My new favorite jeans are the boyfriend jeans from Gap. They do, however, stretch out after wearing them so just go and try on lots of styles and see which ones suit your taste.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I read an article recently in Real Simple Magazine all about how to pick the perfect pair of jeans for your body. So I just checked their website www.realsimple.com and did a search for "perfect jeans" and came up with that article and a bunch of others too. Check that out, it should help with quality and fit.

Like Holly said, the Target merona brand! I just had my second child and have a pudge in the belly area and these strtch a bit and have a tummy control area. They are dark, so they look dressier. I have worn then out a lot already and have gotten a lot of comliments on them! I did have to hem them as well, but it was a easy material to work with.
I used to buy the Gap brand, but with limited income and not being able to get to the mall to buy gap, target is the winner!

Funny that I just (this weekend) found some cute jeans I love after LOTS of looking and no luck in recent years (especially after having kids).

My favorite pair I bought (funny enough) this whole weekend came from Target. They are Merona brand. And, they have this thing called a "no gap waistband" ... the waistband stretches just a bit (so you don't have a gap and they fit you well in the bottom and in the waist). And, they are comfortable! They don't come in lengths (I'm short), so I'm going to have to get them hemmed. But, they are a dark, modern wash, fit great and actually don't feel like wearing jeans! LOVE them! Oh, and they were only $24.99 -- can't beat that!

I also found a couple of pairs I liked at Ann Taylor Factory Store (even cheaper than Ann Taylor Loft and Ann Taylor, of course). They were having sales at all three of those stores this weekend (30% off Ann Taylor/Loft and 15% off Factory Stores and outlets). They have TONS of different styles and fits, different washes, and a petites section. I found a pair of trouser style jeans in one fit I loved, and a pair of modern style fit in another wash I love (dark -- you can dress those up or down). I suggest trying on the different styles and fits to see which you like best for you (they have different rises and washes). But, I LOVE them!

Before that, I used to buy Old Navy jeans -- they also have different styles, rises, washes, etc. And, they are normally a good price (even if not on sale). And, they have different lengths, too. I found the fit I liked in those and knew I could walk in and buy those.

Good luck! Finding a great pair of jeans is HARD!

Stacy on "What Not To Wear" said that if you want to find the best pair of jeans you have to commit to trying on a couple of dozen different pairs to find one that works. It's different for everyone. Leave the kids at home with your wonderful husband and give yourself several hours to find that perfect pair of jeans. BTW, Ann Klein at Dillards is my favorite. Also, Stacy said to avoid ankle flare if you have big thighs. It makes them look bigger. Mom's trying to look nice should try trouser jeans with straight legs. High waste is more flattering than low cuts with muffin tops! Have fun.

I love the Ann Taylor Loft jeans. They wear well, make my stomach look smaller and my butt look good. They have different styles but I think the Slim fit boot cut are good, slightly low rise but not low enough to show butt crack and high enough in the waist to hold my lower stomach/baby belly in (I had two 9 1/2 lbs babies so my tummy is really stretched out). And the top of the legs are fitted enough to make my thighs look thin and the boot cut bottom just balances out my proportions.

I like Target's Merona brand of jeans too but not as much as I like Ann Taylor Loft.

Finding the right pair of jeans is like finding the right guy. Sometimes you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince :P Good luck and happy shopping!

Congratulations on your weight loss! That's a lot of work and determination on your part and I hope you are SO proud of yourself!
Check with stores that sell jeans to fit different body shapes - Fashion Bug, Lane Bryant, I even saw some in Wal Mart. If you figure out your shape, there should be a style that fits. Also, you'll have to buy them too tight to allow for them to stretch, the addition of Spandex to all the jeans isn't always a blessing! Once it stretches out, it never goes back. Good luck!

I love Banana Republic. I recently bouth one pair then had to go back and find another. They have lower waists but not so low that they show everything when you bend over. They have good stretch without being poofy. Find the ones on sale though - full price is crazy. But sometimes, it's worth it to pay a lot for the perfect pair!

Also check out the Lee jean brand. Some people are having luck with those. But it's true about trying on tons of jeans to find the ones that fit. And losing weight just means they won't fit great for long. I finally ended up with a pair from Charlotte Russe(?) that were juniors but bigger. They have a good amount of stretch. Not too low and not too high. They are tighter in the upper thigh. Can't remember brand and baby is nursing right now so I can't get up...lol. But they had a grey ribbon belt if that will help. Plus they were inexpensive. Good luck and congrats on the weight loss.

Rue 21 has affordable jeans for all figure types. They are not very expensive (well under $30, and some are much less - even $12, because they were on sale). I tried them for the first time last week and I was so happy with them that I am going back to buy two more pairs. I have the opposite problem that you have (I have a big rear and legs and smaller waist), but I know that they have jeans for thinner legs and a larger waist, because I tried on many pairs that were made for that figure type. I must have tried on 10 different styles that day. Rue 21 caters to a younger crowd, and I am not in my 20s anymore, but I managed to find a pair that is appropriate for my age (lower on the waist without showing my crack in the back). They are hip and stylish. Good luck!

P.S. - I'm with you on getting frustrated about jeans stretching out. I think it's because of the added lycra that's in all of them these days. They fit perfectly for about an hour, then they get loose and baggy - ugh! A salesperson told me a long time ago to always get them snug, because they will stretch out. I hate buying jeans that feel too small at first, but she was right. They do stretch out. You might have to do some stretches in them when you first put them on, but they do loosen up!

I like Amethyst Jeans. They're cute, fitted through the thigh and rear area, and have fashionable washes (finishes). However, they DO tend to stretch a bit after wearing them for a few hours. Honey, I'm a size 18 and anything that makes this Mama's backyard look good is a keeper! Pre-babies (I have two - 11 and 3), I was a size 8, if that tells ya' anything! Good luck and God bless! =)
