Need Help Keeping Showers Doors Clean!!!!!

My brother said he pout rain X on them and that helped, the water and soap just ran right off the glass.

There is a product for car windshields that makes the water just run off. I can't think of the name of it but you can buy it in automotive departments and it works on shower doors too.

The only products I can swear by are Melaleuca products. They work better than anything I have used and without the caustic chemicals and horrble aroma that gets into your throat causing gagging and respiratory problems.

Once you get the initial layer of soap scum off, I would recommend getting a squeegie (sp?) and then try to get in the habit of squeegee-ing off the doors after every shower. You can get a clear plastic one that just suction-cups to the shower wall, so it's not too noticeable. It only takes a minute or so to do and it then the glass dries with no spots. It really makes such a huge difference for only an extra minute or so of work after the shower. Then when you do your normal bathroom cleaning, it will be a breeze just to Windex the shower doors. First scrub off the soap scum with a magic eraser or a good cleaner and a bristly scrub brush. Once it looks clean - if it does - spray Turtle Wax on it and follow the instructions for rubbing/buffing to a shine just like they tell you to on a car. You can use the other formulas, but I prefer the spray. This will cause the future water/soap from showers to bead up, but you have to towel dry the shower doors after each shower. A coating of wax lasts a good month if you remember to dry them regularly. You can also do this to your kitchen or bathroom sinks or your entire shower walls. The first cleaning is no fun, but the wax treatment works amazingly well. If it's too much work, replace them if you can. Good luck!

I second the vinegar post. You'll be amazed. If you have a window in the bathroom(s) make sure they are wide open. The smell is pretty strong. Hope that helps...

I have a glass shower too so i know what you're going through! I use soft scrub once a week. I squeeze it on and then use a sponge (the tutu material) and scrub real good. i rinse with water. Once a month or two, after this I will also windex.

The best squeegie I have is from Bed bath and beyond. the OXO brand. My husband and I both squeegie daily after showers and the shower looks pretty clear on a daily basis. good luck.

Have you tried Windex with Vinegar? Also when you use it be sure to buy Bounty paper towels to use with the Windex as they don't leave any lint. This Windex doesn't leave any streaks and takes care of a lot of things. Also a great remover of soap scum is amonia and water. Wash the doors down with that and use a squeezee to remove it. Apply the amonia and water with a rag and then run the squeezee over it. Hope this helps!
