My son also had this on his eyebrows (which seemed strange) but it was just eczema. He got it on his forehead and elbows too. Aveeno Baby lotion made especially for baby eczema worked great for it, it cleared it right up.

Hi T., Congratulations! I agree with the below posts, and will add another thought. What cleanser are you using? Or creams? I use only cetaphil cleanser as I found it the most mild. Also, as it is hot in the summer, make sure you dab his sweat etc so it does not build up....

Ask your pedi of course about cetaphil.

If the baby is just one month than it maybe your shedding hormones and the baby could be having infantile acne. This usually passes after the first few months

Congrats on your new baby! Aquaphor is great for all kinds of skin issues. You can get it at any drugstore. Babies get rashes all the time- they are common and usually harmless. Unless your baby seems bothered by it, I wouldn't go to the doctor. If you are concerned, talk to the advice nurse at your pedi's office.

Newborn baby skin goes through a lot with the transition from in to out and it's totally normal to have flaking and rashes, etc. I wouldn't worry about it and just mention it to the ped at his next wellness check if you're still concerned. I also wouldn't try anything on it either because it could make it worse. Maybe the ped could give you some advice there.

Is it a rash or baby acne? Or possibly cradle cap (if it's dry flaky ickiness, it's probably cradle cap)? Baby acne is incredibly common and there isn't much you can do about it. If you're really concerned, I would have your ped check it out.

Is the rash flaky? If so, it may be a form of cradle cap. For cradle cap you apply oil and gently scratch the flakes off. Over time it goes away.

Call your pediatrician and ask if they'd like you to bring him in. Dermatological issues are really hard to diagnose properly.......especially by those of us who are completely untrained.

If you don't already have it, try something like Aquaphor. It's common at that age for issues like baby acne to emerge. Aquaphor was recommended by our pediatrician/dermatologist for dry skin that accompanies the baby's first few weeks. It's really concentrated, so a little will go a long way.

Remember: not everything you can find over the counter at pharmacies is safe for a baby that young, so please call your pediatrician and ask before taking any of our advice.

Congrats on the new baby! The rash on his eyebrows could be newborn acne. Babies tend to get this around 1 month old.It's just their body's way of getting use to their new environment outside of the womb. But to be sure, I would call the pediatrician. They can tell you for sure as well as how to treat it! Make sure you tell them that you are breast and formula feeding. As well as the type of formula. Good luck and enjoy your new little guy!

aI think what you might be seeing is either dry skin from his birth, baby acne, or possible cradle cap. If the area looks reddish and is filled with teeny-tiny bumps and feels sandpapery...that is baby acne and it will go away. Your hormones entered your baby's bloodstream during labor and that causes baby acne to appear until his body is able to get rid of the hormone. It will go away. New babies are also dry and flaky shortly after birth because their skin was water logged for nine months and will gradually start to peel. In this case, just moisturize him with Aveeno lotion or Eucerin cream. Cradle cap is also flaky and can be reddish but it is more of a thicker, greasy, type skin that flakes off. A bit of baby oil on a cotton ball that you rub over the area and loosen all that up will help. You need to remove that greasy layer of skin and then it will go away. If this thing you are seeing is nowhere else on his body (trunk, arms, back, legs), than it is one of these three things and nothing to be concerned about. Any rash from sickness or allergy will not just form on the eyebrows and stay there....it will be all over and a systemic response. He sounds fine to me and congrats on your beautiful new boy!! My son got this red scaly stuff on his eyebrows and then on his forehead. I couldn't figure it out bc my first never had that. I kept looking at it and it just looked like cradle cap. Looks sort of red but sort of like little scales and if you sort of scratch at it, it gets 10x worse. What I did was just get this stuff at Wal-Mart called Cradle Cap Care. It was in the baby section and comes in a green bottle with some little Winnie the Pooh characters on it. I would massage a tiny bit into the area and then take the really soft brush they gave me at the hospital and just softly brush all that flakiness away. You can just brush from the brow towards the hairline, basically across the forehead. It worked great and I felt much better that those flakes weren't going to get into my baby's eyes. You can look online for cradle cap pics, baby acne pics etc and try to match up what your baby has, or you can just go to the dr to confirm. These little skin issues will clear up, most if not all babies go through them as their skin adjusts to life outside of a watery world:) Congrats on your little one!!

Both of my kids got the rash on their eyebrows. We didn't do anything, and it just went away on its own.
Newborns (at least ours) seem to have a variety of strange skin issues the first 3-5 months, all of which just come and go on their own. Our pediatrician recommended we not do anything, not even use skin lotion, since the lotion would probably only serve to agitate their skin more, and that they will heal without medicine or products.

All babies get some type of rash when they are little. I would not worry too much. I would not put too much on it right now since he is little. When he goes for his visit with the ped. then ask if there is something you can do. I do not think it is a good idea to put cream on his skin, newborns have sensitive skin. Be careful with having him in the sun and heat when it is hot. Make sure you are drinking lots of water to produce enough milk. Watch what you eat as it will effect the baby. Like for example no broccoli or green peppers as they could give him gas. Sometimes,the dry skin will work itself out. Good luck,your doing great.
