Arbonne has a great baby care line that is great for sensitive skin, eczema, cradle cap, diaper rash, etc. and is ped. recommended. I can give more info. if you would like.
I am a first time mom with a 6 week old baby. I have really sensative skin as does my husband, so it's only fit that my new baby does too. She gets heat rashes at the drop of a hat and is starting to have some slight baby acne. My question is what can I put on her face to minimize the baby acne. I know this is a normal thing with newborns, just wondering if anyone has any advice. Thanks!!

Welcome to the sensitive baby skin club!
I put Nipple Cream on my boys faces for chapped skin and lips (edible) and they needed prescription burn cream for diaper rashes (something to ask your Pedi about) but I do NOT have an acne cure. Sometimes acne is just part of nursing and experiencing new foods.
My kids do well with the Aveno Baby lotion and cream for their extra dry arms. Good luck and congratulations!

my daughter had super sensitive skin. her ped recommended NO SOAP on her. CETAPHIL cleansing and CETAPHIL cream did the trick for us!
All the best!
Dear J.,
Welcome to motherhood. Oh, you're in for such a great ride! Check out the products at this place:

I've found california baby products to be top notch. (Their prices reflect the quality of their product unfortunately.) They have this stuff called Calendula Cream (I think...too lazy to go look, sorry!). I use it on MY face too. It's fantastic.
Good luck,

I can completely relate!! My son who is 4 months old has the most sensitive skin!! They tell me it is baby eczema but he has had the worst cradle cap and just breaks out into a rash the second he touches anything that isn't washed in Dreft detergent. The doctor's prescribed me a steroid cream for his body when he breaks out into rash and told me to use aquafor for his face. Most recently they told me to use cortizone cream for his cheeks. One time he had a rash all over his little back and the doctor's simply told me that it was baby eczema and that is when they gave me the cream to use. And just an fyi.....his skin didn't get this bad until he was probably 2 or 3 months old! Just keep your fingers crossed your baby's doesn't get to this point! Cade, my son, had the worst cradle cap too that his lymphnodes swelled up behind his ear....scary!! Anyway I just wanted to tell you what they recommended for Cade....I use aquafor (spelling?!) all over his little body now per their advice. It is very safe and really helps his eczema!! Good luck! And if you have any questions feel free to e-mail me! Been there!! :)
My son is 10 weeks old and has suffered baby acne. If you have not already, try washing your baby's face gently with plain warm water on cotton balls. If that doesn't help then you can try Cetaphil. Use the plain version, not the kind for oily skin. Cetaphil is a very gentle cleanser that you can buy at Wal-Mart, Target, etc. It is frangrance free and soap free. It even says on the label that it is ideal for baby's sensitive skin. I put a VERY small amount on my finger and carefully rub in onto my baby's forehead and cheeks (where the baby acne pops up) while his skin is dry. I then wipe it off carefully with a cotton ball. It is ok according to the directions not to rinse it off with water. I only do this two or three times a week when I give my son his bath because I don't want to risk drying his face. It has made a huge difference! You might even find that you like to bathe your baby in Cetaphil.Good luck!
My boys have very, very sensitive skin as well. Once we started using products in our home (cleaning, laundry, bath, & body) that do not have caustic chemicals in them, their skin improved greatly! Let me know if you'd like more info. :)
California Baby products are the best! They are all made of organic, natural ingredients. The Calendula cream they carry is a "nature's first aid" - it has been written up in magazines, websites, etc. that it works wonders for rashes, acne and eczema. They also have body wash/shampoo for sensitive skin. I have extremely dry skin, especially now since I wash my hands all the time with the baby. My hands were cracking they were so dry, so I put some of the Calendula cream on them and my skin was like new.
You can find a few of their products at Target, but you will find a much larger selection at Whole Foods or Central Market. They also have a wesbite. I believe it's just californiababy.com
Limit your use of soap. On a baby that young, they really dont get dirty. I would clean my son's face, neck, diaper area and creases with arbonne's baby wash once a week, and just wipe him down with a wet cloth and lather him in lotion daily. He too has very sensitive skin and eczema (due to food allergies). I love arbonne's baby line.
I also tried Cetaphil wash and lotion and didn't like it as much as Arbonne, but it worked well.
If youd like more info, please let me know!
God bless!

We use Aquaphor Wash, it is fragrance free and tear free and it has really helped. However we started using that when our child was around 1 year or so. We are now seeing a Dermatologist for Keratosis Pilaris and we have special creams,a wash and medication for that. Gentle Naturals has a Eczema wash too, so you might check into their products for the infants. I used the Cradle Cap of the Gentle Naturals and it helped.
Our Dermatologist has told me and our Son (we all have sensitive skin in our family) not to use anything that has fragrance in it. Laundry Detergent, get the Free and Clear kind, preferably and not to use the dryer sheets either.
For lotion, don't use the Johnson's Baby Lotion or any lotion with any scent in it. Most of them have fragrance in them. We use Moisturel and you can get it at CVS or Walgreens. Our Dermatologist recommended it or CeraVe (special order from the pharmacy). It doesn't clog your pores and works great for any type of skin problems. I would definitely check with your Pediatrician to make sure what they recommend for your infant.
For the face, our Son got acne also and that is very normal. We washed our child with a washcloth and water and no soap at first at least for the first few months. You might want to call your Pediatrician to double check and see when you can start using a gentle wash/soap that is fragrance free. Good luck.
