N.L.
I have a Taylor (has the same sounding end part of the name like River), and her middle name is N. (which is my first name). Just sounded good together, besides she has her mommy's name too!!
Having a tough time finding a middle name to go with River for a girl. Our last name starts with B.
Thanks!

Read the other answers, and I'm LOVING River Lily!
Oh, and 2 syllables followed by 2 syllables doesn't have to sound weird. My older son's name is Jackson Tanner, and we get compliments on it all the time!
How about River Kiona pronounced Keyona. Or River Jewel, River Rose, River Lilly, River June, River Anastasia,River Annisa
no name. but you want a softer more vowel heavy name for sure to balance that one. river ann sounds nice both are harder but it sounds nice.
River Mae sounds really cute.... congrats. BTW-I probally would feel the same way about the gender, I have a boy and am so hoping for a girl (no pg yet but trying). Good luck to you...
I don't have a name to offer but would suggest that you go with a mainstream name for the middle. Lots of parents give kids cool (read very unusual here lol) first names and the kids end up going by something totally different. So maybe just a regular name like ann or lynn etc. Just my thoughts here.
In reading everyone's suggestions, I like River Lynn.
I know this is going to sound odd, but why do you need her to have a middle name? None of the females in my family have one. I think they're pointless and I never did understand why people have them! The only use I've ever seen is for filling out forms and for when people say, "What's your middle name?"

We used our favorite name as the first name and a name from our family tree as the middle name. My oldest middle name is Anthony, which is my husband's middle name and his grandpa's first name. My baby's middle name is Hunter which is the English translation of my maiden name. Both our families weren't really exited about our kids' first names (because we chose English names which are hard to pronounce back home) but they really appreciated that we chose the middle names based on family history.

-fraiyah \ilike river-fraiyah or river-skye the most x
I used my maiden name....would yours work?
How about River Elaina or River Alaysia?
anna pronounced (Ah-nah) would sound great if your last name is one or two syllables. Erin (air-in) would be better if your last name has three syllables or more.
The common ones off the top of my head are : Lynn, Ann, Mae, Elizabeth, Marie,........
I had a friend that was determined to use a name , and could not make it work for the first name ,so they swapped the name and the first name became the middle name.
The other post had Alyssa, I liked that one too !
With a unique name like River, you really could forego a middle name. I have a niece with a unique, nature based sort of name and my brother in law decided she didn't need a middle name.
In fact, you could wait until she's 13 or something and let her decide her own middle name and let it be part of her becoming a young adult/teen!
Some things to think about- she may change her last name anyway when she gets married, but she may not. I think it also depends on the syllable flow of your last name. For example, I think names with 2 syllables in each name sound weird. I would do 2 (River) then either 1 or 3, then whatever your last name is (if your last name is 3, then choose a middle with 1, and vice-versa probably.) Lastly, DON"T tell anyone your name because they will either USE it or HATE it and you'll be sad either way. It's better to let them be surprised! :)
Contessa
Anastasia (that was the first that popped into my head and I see someone else also suggested it)
Madeleine/Madelyn
Annabella
Constantina
Penelope
Calliope
Yvonne
Alyssa/ Elysa/Alys/Elise
Maribel
Felicity
Sprite (because river fairy would be a very cool name in my opinion!)
Bailey (I kind of like the two B's beside each other, but would depend on your last name too)
Willow
Fontaine
Brittany/Brianna
Cassidy
Chloe
Zoe
Chelsea
Adelaide
Lana/Lanna/Layna/Laine/Lane
any cool last names or traditionally men's names would be neat too, like your maiden name, etc. I knew a girl named Stuart and another girl with the middle name Scott once and that was cool. How about things like Bennett, Bryce, etc? Or maybe use her father's name or middle name for a cool twist.
I love the name River, btw!
