We are expecting #4 any day now. We have picked out the name Kendra but cannot come up with a middle name that sounds good with it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
S.
Before I read any of the others, my first thought was Kendra Joy. I like the idea of a one syllable middle name with the two syllable first name.
I also like Kendra Paige or Kendra Leigh. When I saw someone list Kendra Rain, I really liked the sound of that, but I would spell it Reine.
Good Luck! Choosing names is always a "fun" job.
S.

Hey S.,
I would give one word of advice: do not pick a middle name that starts with "K". Because if she marries someone with the last name starting with "K" she will be unable to have her initials on anything. My sister-in-law has this issue and the only thing she has all three initials is a pair of chopsticks. She married my husband's brother(our last name starts with "K") and she leaves in Texas.
A few suggestions are Kendra Leigh, Kendra Nicole, Kendra Sue. I am not sure if will go with your last name. Hope this helps.

I have a friend named Kendra. Her middle name is Mae.
I would go with 1 syllable if your last name is 3 or more syllables; or 2 syllables if your last name is 1 0r 2 syllables (flows well musically). It would be helpful to kow what your last name was (or at least the ethnicity)...but for privacy sake, I understand.
There is a female german name...Berit. It means "bright and glorious". We chose it for our daughter, Erica. I also came upon the name "Schuyler" (pronounced Skyler)which is Dutch and means "a shelter". Or, doing a twist on a family name (i.e. if your mother's name is Mary, choosing Marie in her honor) or something like that. Try <ivillage.com> and click on baby names...they are fantastic!
Good luck!

I would say, go through your family history and pick something from either you or your husband's ancestry. It would be even better if it was from a family member that you personally know (vs. way back in the day). It will mean a lot, and since it is only the middle name, it won't be such a big deal if it isn't the most beautiful name. You could even use middle names of close relatives. For example, someone I know just used Marie for the middle name which was the mom's grandmother's first name and the dad's grandmother's middle name, so it had double meaning.

A friends little girl whose name is Kendra has the middle name of Jo. Might work for you.
Otherwise I would look in your family and see if there was any first, middle or last that might work.
My grandmothers maiden name was Fallon. I always thought that would make a cute first or middle name.
Good luck!

Ya know some play off of your first name or middle name. Or you could use a play/spin off of your husband's name. My niece's middle name is Nichole because her dad's name(my brother's name)is Nicholas.
Good luck!

I just had a baby and her middle name is Noelle. I love Christmas so this reminds me of Christmas. Plus I spell it with the two little dots over the first E, so it's kind of unique. I've gotten tons of compliments on it. I think Kendra Noelle sounds good:)

Since the first name has 2 sylables, use a middle name with one sylable. i.e. Kendra Ann or Kendra Jane. My son's name is Riley, so his middle name is James. Riley James.
Of course there are a billion ways to do it, but that's just my suggestion.

I dont have great advice for the middle name except for what my mother told me. She said wait for baby and see what would fit! I just wanted to say congrats I am due with #4 any day also and it took me along time to come up with a boy name and I just recently changed the girl middle name because we almost lost my mother in law and gratefully it fits, but of course I dont know the sex of my baby lol!

It's funny to compare what everybody else is suggesting to what first popped into my head: I know they are different names than Kendra, but my cousin has a 4 yr. old named Kalista Nicole. She is due with another little girl they are probably going to name Keana Michelle. I thought when I read your request that either Nicole or Michelle would go well with Kendra. Then I see several others have mentioned those two names as well.
Good luck with the "name game" and with your upcoming delivery!!

Sorry this reponse is a little late, this is the first chance I have had to check my eamil! The first name that came to mind was Marie. Try doing something fun combining your name with your husbands. My hubby and I were going to use Marlee (my middle name is Marie and his is Lee)and I have some friends who's names are Crailin and Alanda (parents names are Craig and Linda). Maybe try something with the grandmas names... they always love that! Hope this helps and I'm not too late in responding! Good luck with your new arrival!

Hi S.!!
I have 4 children also. Picking out names is quite the challenge!!!:) I don't know how the Duggar(sp?) family who are expecting baby #17 or #18 in January can do it. And to top it all off...all of their names start with the letter "J". Anyway, I love the name Kendra! If you say it out loud with some other names, it seems to sound better with a one syllable middle name. I just tried a few like - Kendra Joy, Kendra Lee, Kendra Mae, Kendra Sue...etc. Then I tried some more names with more than 1 syllable. Kendra Suzanne, Kendra Marie. This is just my 2 cents, so please take it for what it is worth!:)

I'd problably avoid the L's if your childs last name is the same letter as yours or the same ending as "A" in Kendra. I personally like Rose, May or Lynn the best. Those seem to go well with lots of name.
Kendra May or Mae
Kendra Alise not sure how to spell it (a lease)
Kendra Lea or Lee or Leigh
Kendra Matic
Kendra Rain
Kendra Lyn, Lin, or Lynn
Kendra Nevaeh
Kendra Page or Paige
Kendra Nicole
Kendra Rose
Kendra Rosamae Rosamay
It's never easy. I had the same trouble with our second and I ended up combining my grandma's name and my middle name...Roselynn. You may want to experiment with some of that too.
Please do an update so we know what you finally decided on. Good luck!
