Yet another suggestion to get your hormones checked. Many of them being too low can cause that problem including thyroid and testosterone (yes, women have that too and too low a level impacts libido), as well as the progesterone already mentioned. You'll want to find a practitioner that uses bio-identical hormone replacement if you have problems in that area. You can actually get this all tested yourself through this site: www.canaryclub.org Most of the hormones are done by saliva testing and some (like cortisol) are tested multiple times during the day, so they are more accurate than a single blood test that most conventional doctors will do.
However, I do not recommend self treating as it can be very difficult to get the right balance. For example, DHEA is an OTC supplement, however, it gets converted to both testosterone and estrogen. If you only have low testosterone (and not estrogen), it can make the problem worse. And just trying hormones such as testosterone (without testing) is also not a good idea as that can have negative side affects like facial hair. Your age is extremely indicative of this being your problem as many women start having issues with hormone levels by the time they reach 40 due to periomenopause. Also, there are many toxins in our environment (and food) that impact our hormonal balance in a negative way.
