It can take a little while for the uterine lining to build back up.
(BTW, UTI is a urinary tract infection. IUD is an intrauterine device. ;-) )
I had my Mirena IUD taken out about a month ago (in hopes of having another baby) and still no period. I was really prepared for a period from hell, but nothing. A couple weeks ago I notice a very small amount of spotting, but only while in the bathroom. My periods had stopped when I had the UTI, so I have no timeline to compare to. Within the last week I have been having some light cramping, but still nothing. I did take a pregnancy test and it was negative. So do you think I am pregnant and just too early for the test to work, or can it take over a month for your body to restart it self with monthly cycles? Thank you in advance. It's so nice to have a place to come to with questions!
I appreciate your responses. My doctor never said anything about it taking a while for a period to begin again. He said if I was lucky I wouldn't have one and might get pregnant in the first month, which I didn't really think would be possible. Guess we'll see what happens in another month.

When i got mine taken out i started to bleed that day and bleed for a week. But they said do not count that as a period and you should get your period back with in a month or 2. I also quit bleeding while using the mirena. My period did end up showing up with in a month or so cant quit remember.
Seriously doubt your pregnant yet.
Takes a month or two to regulate when you come off of hormones.
I got mine out early Jan. had a period that started March 1st then the next period started April 12th. My doctor told me it could take up to 2 months to get your first period back and if I didn't then I need to go on pills to help start it again. With my first period, I had wiping spotting a week before I started.
