Hi Ladies,
Finding a new doctor has always been a stressor for me so I'm asking for you help,
I just found out I'm expecting my fourth child, I'm a fan of Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. However I've heard that the medical center building that's on the other end of the Hospital premises has long waiting times in the waiting room & then again in the exam rooms. (I'll be going to check-ups while my daughter is in preschool for 2 1/2 hrs) So I won't have much time.
So does anyone know of a Doctor with a more private setting, where appts. take no more than couple hours tops? Or anyone with any experience good or bad at the Loyola Health Center? All comments welcome. Thanks girls!

Congrats on #4!

I delivered my first daughter at Loyola and had a great experience and I am going to be delivering my second there in December. I go to the Oak Brook Terrace office on Butterfield, just next to the Home Depot. My favorite OB there is Dr. Reddy (F) but all of them are amazing - Dr. Graziano (M), Cheryl McLean, Dr. White (F). I have only had to wait past my scheduled appointment time once (more than a few minutes) but that was because one of the Dr.'s had to go to the hospital for an emergency and I couldn't be mad about that. I have heard great things about the Pediatricians there too, however, we go to the Darien office for our regular Doctors. We live closer to Darien, which I suppose is a tribute to how happy I am with Loyola. It is a 30 minute drive to the hospital for us - on a good day!

I think the reason people have to wait longer at the clinic at the hospital is because it is walk in. I know for sure that the lab is and I am pretty sure it is the same for seeing a Dr. there. Both of our offices take appointments and run pretty close to on time.

Good luck with your decision. The number for my OBs office is ###-###-####. As a new patient that is already preg. I would go through the menu and talk with a nurse. Don't hit the number for scheduling an appointment. The central scheduling usually can't get you in quick enough. I think you will hit option 2. If you get the answering machine on the nurse line, I think it gives you the option to speak to someone right away, I would suggest you do that. It will transfer you to the receptionist and they should be able to schedule an appointment within a reasonable time.

Congrats again, Jessica

Congratulations!
Dr. Deighan delivered my daughter via c-section & she did an excellent job. I will definately use her in the future. She is out of the North Riverside office & I do not remember wait times ever being very long. My sister had a baby 2 1/2 months before me & Dr. Stoeffler delivered my niece. Also an excellent job. I saw Stoefler & Summers as well for appts. & I would have been fine with any of them. They're a great team.

I am currently on bed rest in Loyola Hopsital, and have been seen by an amazing group of Dr's... I personally see Dr. Graziano, which you can also visit him at a few of their other locations (ex: Oakbrook Terrace)

Very honest, very smart and helpful! (and not bad to look at)

Let me know if you need more information, I would recommend this group to anyone!!!

Congrats on #4! I had my daughter at Loyola, and I use the North Riverside Family Health Center. My PCP was Karen Deighan, who was great, but all the OB's there rock. Amy Steoffler and Sondra Summers are the other 2 female OB's that I saw for checkups, and Deighan delivered my daughter (well, it was an emergency C-section-but she was very good). I would recommend them to anyone. Plus, that office has fast appointments, and it's pretty easy to get in and out quickly. I use that office for our pediatrician and my doctor is there as well.

I don't know if you are set on Loyola but I love my midwives at West Suburban midwives in Oak Park. I will deliver at West Suburban, also in Oak Park in their alternative birthing center. It's a great facility if you don't want a lot of interventions. Otherwise, I've heard that Loyola is great, especially if you are high risk.
