I was 37 when we got pregnant the first time. It was unexpected, but I had an extremely easy pregnancy and delivered in a record time with natural childbirth (less than 2 hours). I was also very active outdoors which helped! I am now 42 and have never been pregnant again. Timing, finances, and other non-physical things probably had a lot to to with that, but I am greatful for the beautiful and talented daughter that we do have. I did not want another child after 40 due to working and being tired, but if it does happen, I will not prevent it. Best wishes in whatever God chooses for you! Enjoy what you do have, as there are many that never have any.

I am a Doula who just moved to the area...and my first client in Houston is 47! Age is a number...but sometimes as we get a little older our egg count decreases...on the other end of that keep in mind the older we get the more of a chance we have for multiples...the bottom line is its up to you...get your body ready for pregnancy...i.e. diet, exercise...folic acid consumption...make the perfect garden for your seed to grow! Best of luck...and lots of prego wishes your way!

First of all, 32 is NOT too old to have a baby. There are TONS of reasons that "might" be reason enough for you not getting pregnant. You may not be ovulating properly, your timing might not be right, your husband may have some new issues with quality controll, your hormones in general might be off...The list goes on and on.

If you haven't spoken to your doctor about this, now would be the time. If you feel that you are ovulating properly, start temping so you can find a pattern and bring that with you when you speak to the doctor. A basic OB/GYN will be able to at least take blook work from you, give your husband a prescription for his sample to be evaluated and do basic monitoring. If you want to go a step further, you can find a Reproductive Endocrinologist. There, they will do ultrasounds on day 3 of your cycle to find out how things are going inside of you and possibly prescribe medication to help you grow some folicles. With monitoring from that point, you will be told when optimum time is for relations with your husband and then, if you do not get your period, you would go back in for blood work.

It might sound like a lot of work, but some of it might be needed to just find out where you are at currently. When I went back to my RE to have my second, they ordered another analysis of my husband because it had been a few years since his last and they wanted to make sure nothing with him had changed. Honestly, testing the man is much easier than it is with the woman and if they can get that out of the way first, it will help SO much.

I wish you the best of luck...I know how hard it was for me, waiting to have additional children. Our second took over 4-1/2 years but was TOTALLY worth it!

I had my first child at 31 and my second at 34...if we have anymore it will be in my late 30's...32 is young, you are still a spring chicken!! Go see your OB/GYN and ask some questions...also a great book is Taking Charge of Your Fertility.

If you read the Bible at all, you know the story of Hannah. She prayed for 80 something years for God to give her a child and finally God heard her cries, blessed her with Samuel and many other children after him. Your never too old to have a baby if God has put the desire in your heart. Seek Him out and ask for His will to be done.

Have a great day!!!
