I think this is one of the greatest problems facing women today. It is so hard to stay on task and not be distracted by the computer and internet. It makes it where we can run around town, if you will, without ever leaving our chair. I read about women in history who accomplished so much, and it shames me. Of course, many had household help, but they didn't have washing machines, dishwashers, microwaves, etc. They had to plan things out, execute it well, manage their households. I admit that I fly by the seat of my pants most days. We homeschool, so I have to be careful to not get sucked in to the computer before we do what must be done in that regard. I just have to tell myself to get up and get some work done. I concentrate on accomplishing what needs to be done, with the children pitching in, and we do what needs doing. I also hate wasting time here when we could be doing some things that have a far higher value, like ministering to others, sewing, crafts with the children, etc. I also own a business, which is computer based, so often, I am working on that in between emails and mamapedia. :) I love falling in bed at night exhausted from the work I have been doing. At night, after the kids are in bed, I pull out my ironing board and iron for hours. I love that time. I will usually pop in a movie or watch a documentary. I tend to stay up too late on those nights though. (her lamp does not go out at night...)
