Having Trouble Viewing Mamapedia on Tablet

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone else is having trouble viewing mamapedia on their I pad? I am able to load the site... but there is always an advertisment from coupons.com that blocks half the question and answers so I can't enjoy the site. When I am at home and go onto my computer I am able to view the site fine and the coupons.com advertisment appears below or at the bottom of the page.... and doesn't interfere with reading the question. Does anyone know how to fix this problem.
Thank you,

L.

I'm so glad you asked this! I used to be able to hit refresh enough times to get a shorter add that did not block everything, but now it doesn't work! I only use my phone and my iPad to access this site, so I guess I can't ask my own question until this goes away! :(
Thanks for asking this question!

I don't think it's an Apple problem necessarily because I do not have that problem with my Macbook Pro but I do have it with the iPad and my Droid phone...same as you say...the advertisement blocks the whole left corner and makes it impossible to read and barely click on the 'questions' button. :(

No idea how to fix it but I will be watching your responses!

Mamapedia isn't set up to run on mobile devices, of any kind.

I can view it on my tablet just fine. My tablet came preset as a mobile device, just like a smart phone. I had to switch it to desktop mode. Somewhere in the settings. After I did that, it acts just like a reg computer.

Apparently it's all about website fluid design. Flash is OUT pretty much across the board. Obviously this website is not designed in the "new" way. There is no fold. iPad allows vertical and horizontal viewing.....hopefully it will be updated soon.

My Iphone does the same thing. The one thing I have noticed is that once I move from page to page in the site that the ad comes and goes - so I am ultimately able to access all the questions.

I have no idea why MP does this on my phone - but it sure it annoying.

I am having the same problem. This is my first time visiting the site on my iPad, so I'm guessing the website probably works better with Flash, which the iPad doesn't have :(

I have heard some moms here say that Apple products have trouble with Mamapedia (or the other way around). This has held true for me. I have not been able to even get ON with my Iphone, and that's HALF the reason I bought the damn thing!

You could try sending an email to ____@____.com might be able to help.

GL!

:)

I asked this same question earlier this month. I have an ipad 2. The advertisements were covering the top of each page, and I also couldn't ask or answer any questions. Mamapedia uses FlashPlayer. Any site that uses Flashplayer is difficult to use on the ipad and iphone. My husband has an iphone. Apple has an application that solves that problem. It's called Puffin. It looks like the bird called Puffin. Puffin allows you to open anything that runs FlashPlayer. You have to open the site through Puffin. Then you can bookmark the site in Puffin. I hope it helps.

The same thing happens on my iPad. I don't think it's Flash, but rather how the site is constructed. On the computer that ad would probably be on the right side of the screen. I just sent them an email with a description of the problem; hopefully if enough people complain they'll fix it. It sure is annoying!

This is definitely a website issue, not an Apple one. I sent in a customer support email about a month ago on this very issue and have received NO response. Thanks for posting this question- hopefully this will get enough responses that MP will fix their bad code!

I have noticed on both my iPhone and iPad, the text for "Ask a Question" menu button at the top of the page does render on top of the ad some times. Since the text is the hyperlink, you can still click it. It just gets visually lost in the ad. I know that's a bit jargon-y, but zoom in carefully inside the ad and you can find the text.
