Ok, I got a BFP on August 25th. I took a test on August 19th, BFN. I am pregnant. First beat was 169, and progesteron level of 163! I was like 4-5 weeks when my blood was drawn. Second beta was 330, 24 hours later. Why would my progesterone be soooooooooo high!? Any info?

Thanks!
Edit, it IS my progesterone level, as I stated before Beta 1, was 169, beta 2, was 330. Progesterone 163.

What can I do next?

Beta is not progesterone. Beta is HCG level. This should double every 31 to 48 hours.

If your progesterone level is 163, that is a good sign for your pregnancy. It is better to have a high progesterone than low. Progesterone levels vary from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy. I wouldn't consider it a sign of anything bad or twins since it is so early in the pregnancy.

I'm no doctor.

That out of the way, I was told that progesterone rises before the monthly period and lowers afterwards. They blamed my sensitivity to that causing my migraines that only came up then.

I'm sure there are other reasons...

I don't remember the numbers from when I was pregant, but I do remember that my doctor got the results and they were higher than I should have been at that point. I ending up having an ultrasound to make sure that it was not twins. It ended up that I was just further along than I or my doctor thought.

I wouldn't stress it until you hear from the doctor.

Congrats!

Here's a link that explains the beta test fairly well
http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/beta-pregnancy-test.html

According to this link that I found, http://www.justmommies.com/articles/progesterone-pregnanc... I'm assuming that the original number of 163 was actually a beta test, not a test for progesterone. You would have to double check with your doctor just to be sure. According to the information that I found, that would be way off the charts for a progesterone level. Generally speaking, when your OB does the blood test the numbers are HCG numbers.
