Children's Hair Salon

Does anyone know of a hair salon that specializes in cutting children's hair. I'm new to the Willow Grove area, but I've seen places elsewhere that have specialty hair salons with cars for the kids to sit instead of regular chairs, fun capes, etc. If not something like this, any place good with kids would be helpful.

On the side, if you know a good place for Mommy, that would be helpful too!

For Mommy: I recommend Salon Rage in Southampton. It's only about five miles from the Willow Grove mall and they do any and everything regarding hair...not to mention facials, waxing AND massage therapy! And every shampoo comes standard with a two-minute scalp massage. They also do scalp analysis to help figure out which shampoo and conditioner combo is best for your hair. The number's ###-###-####. They're open Tuesday-Thursday 10 AM to 9 PM, Friday 10 AM to 4 PM, and Saturday 9 AM to 4 PM.

Let me know if you have any questions. As you can probably tell, I work there and I can give you some great recommendations regarding a stylist.

Wiggle Worms on Byberry Rd. They do a great job and are quick! The prices are reasonable as well. I live in Horsham and don't mind driving the 15/20 mins for my son's haircut.

Good luck, T.

there's a place called cookie cutters in chestnut hill that a lot of my friends have used for their little ones - i still haven't taken my 2 year old to get her first haircut so i couldn't say for sure how it is, but it's supposed to be nice.

We never took our kids to a special kids' place, and it never seemed to be an issue. They were given cute, kid-friendly smocks and booster seats or, with my son, he sat on my lap the 1st time. If you have a child who is restless, etc., then you might need something distracting like a kid-only place, but if your son's personality is not that way, then taking hom anywhere that has friendly service that will be kid-appropriate should be fine.

Hi E.,

We take our son to Wiggle Worms. It's on Byberry Rd - coming from WG on Davisville Rd, you would make a right on Byberry and stay on it for 10 minutes or so. A cemetary will be on your left, cross over the next street and it is in a small shopping center on the left. It's right past the Wawa. The salon is small, but they have trains for the kids to play with and both women do a great job. My son likes to sit in the police car and watch a video while he's getting his hair done. We've been going there since he was 14 months and he's now 27 months. I go to Salon on Main in Hatboro. It's on York Rd and I see Michelle Jones. She always does a good job, too.

Good luck,
Deb
