I had sex the other day, and yes sometimes I think my mirena gets a little "nudge", but this time the pain is staying, it's sharp pains. I can't feel the string. I have had the mirena for 4 years.
What do you guys think?
I would call your nurse line if you have one with your healthcare. I think they can do some damage if they move out of place.
Pretty sure you shouldn't be able to feel your Mirena string anyway…it's pretty far up there. When I go for my exam my doc always just looks to see if he can see it.
I think I would wait and see how you feel in the morning and if you're still in pain call your OB. I'm sure you can get an "emergency" appointment that day if you call early.
If the pain gets a lot worse and you are bleeding or doubled over, then go to the ER.
Yeah, you need to either go to the ER or you need to call the doctor.
I never felt my string either. And without graphic information, it should've been nudged a time or two. The sharp pain may need to be checked out, but I would give it a day or two. It could be the start of a UTI or something else unrelated to your IUD.
I think you need to drive to your GYN's office and park yourself in the waiting room until the doctor sees you. I wouldn't take ANY chances. It sounds like something is wrong up there and if you wait even a day, you could end up with a uterine infection. NO WAY would I wait this one out.
