Can You Start to Feel Sick and Only Be About a Week Pregnant?

My husband and I are trying for our fourth child. The first day of my last period was November 1st.....I'm pretty sure I ovulate early on in my cycle and could be pregnant already, but I would only be about five days pregnant if I am.....is it possible to start feeling sick so soon? Would the baby even be implanted yet? I'm feeling queasy like I did with my first and don't know if I'm coming down with something or maybe I'm already pregnant.

My son was conceived on a Sunday and I started to feel nauseous 9 days later. I only remember because it was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and I was walking through the grocery store wondering why I felt that way!

Hope it's good news for you!

Yes you can, it happened to me both times, however it can also be your mind too. There were times when we were trying and i wanted it to happen I would feel sick and think I was, but i wasn't. I just wanted it so bad I think i was trying to convince myself i was.

I felt sick from the end of the first week with my second pregnancy. Turned out it was twins.

I believe you can feel sick so early. I was in my 40's when I conceived my 3rd child and was queasy right away! Maybe its age or your mind could be playing tricks on you. I really hope that you have your blessing. Good Luck!

The pregnancy sickness is usually attributed to implantation, which sets off the release of various pregnancy hormones (most importantly, hcg). If implantation has not occurred yet, then the sickness could be completely psychosomatic (because you're wanting to get pregnant and you're being super-sensitive to your body) or you could be coming down with something.

However, unless you know exactly when you ovulated you may not yet be able to determine if implantation has happened. Usually implantation happens 7-10 days after fertilization. You would have to have ovulated/conceived on 11/6 (day #5 of your cycle, since you refer to 11/1 as the first day of your period) and have implantation happen 7 days later - which is today 11/13. Finally, on top of that if the implantation has happened today your body would need to be in complete and total overdrive of hormone production in order to make you feel sick.

Mathematically it does not seem possible that you are pregnant BUT stranger things have happened, right? Let's hope that is the case here - best wishes and hope things are positive for you!! Good luck.
