Anyone Use YAZ?

Hi Moms! My dermatologist told me to ask my OBGYN about going on the YAZ birth control pill to help my acne. My adult acne is definitely hormonally related - the week before my period, I break out terribly. After that I'm fine, but it takes until the next period for my skin to start healing, so it's a big ugly pain! But YAZ gives you 3 periods a year and that frightens me! That almost seems like too crazy a change to put my body through. Plus, I was on the birth control pill from the time I was 18 to 25 (because I had anemia). So after being off of it for almost 6 years, I'm not sure if it's a healthy thing to go back on it. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Have any of you used YAZ? How do you like it?
Thank you!
E.

Elenore-We need to talk...your body is harboring all sorts of toxins from the non-natural hormones. The bottom line any birth control or form of a lab created hormone is wreaking havoc. You are breaking out because you are estrogen dominant. YAZ is terrible.

There are so many things that you can do naturally-perfectly safe and it will return your body to a balanced state.

I think you have YAZ confused with another pill. You get regular periods on YAZ, just shorter ones. At least that's how it was for me when I took it before. It definitely helps with skin though.

I haven't had any trouble with YAZ and I do take them continously for 3 months and then have a period. You have the option of using them for an extended time like this or taking them "normal" and having your period every month. I like that I can go all summer without having that "inconvenience". Every person will have a different experience, but mine has been good. I've used YAZ for 2 1/2 years now.

I am just coming off YAZ, I am officially DONE with hormonal birth control! They all seem to do something weird to me.
With YAZ you get shorter periods, but I got them every month. Maybe you can skip the placebo pills with YAZ, I don't know.

YAZ made me crazy. I was always tired but had trouble sleeping, I was anxious, I gained weight YUCK!
I have only been off it for a week and I already feel better.
Oh, and I also got splotchy patches on my face like the melasma some people get when pregnant.

If it's just one week that your skin is gross I would try another option.
Just my 2 cents, but I have been on and off every kind of pill for the past 16 years and I am just convinced it is wrong to mess with your body like that.
