How old are you? Haven't you had a period before? You seem completely clueless, pretty much to the point I am finding it hard to believe these are real questions

Katrina suggested a great book; I highly recommend it as well. Dr Weschler de-mystifies fertility and cycles, big time.

Listen, Rose, no one is trying to make you feel badly, but you need to see a doctor and you need to educate yourself on your reproductive health. You seem rather young -- I am not saying that to be harsh, but because of your propensity to write as though you are texting, so forgive me if I am wrong.

You are going to have a whole life, living in the body you have. A whole life of cycles, maybe pregnancy, peri-menopause and menopause. You don't want your life to go by only guessing at what's going on and treating reproductive health issues as if they are a mystery. You can choose to learn about your body, how to prevent pregnancy, how to notice signs and symptoms of any problems which may occur as you go through life, and getting pregnant isn't the only thing going on down there which can affect your health. There are myriad reproductive health issues which can affect women.

You also need to start really reading the directions of the birth control you use. You should not be having unprotected sex for at least the first month of using birth control/ oral contraceptives.

SO... stop having sex for a while. See if you get your period. Talk to your doctor if you have any hard cramping or excessive bleeding/clots discharging. This would be a sign of miscarriage and you would do well to get medical attention for this. Please, Rose, focus on your future and educate yourself on this. It's so worth it.

it means you should stop having sex because you're clearly not mature or responsible enough to handle it, or its results.

Rose,

Back in July you were having questions about your cycles...

You need to see a doctor and find out what's going on with your body. IF you want to get pregnant, can afford to take care of another baby - then by all means - stop your birth control and have unprotected sex.

IF you cannot afford another baby, do NOT stop your birth control. And do NOT have unprotected sex.

It's Tuesday. You've had unprotected sex since Saturday. Can you be pregnant? Possibly. You've had unprotected sex.

If you have STOPPED YOUR BIRTH CONTROL, like it appears you have, your body is probably starting it's cycle and "evacuation" of tissue not needed, hence the blood when you wipe.

If you do NOT understand what is going on with your body, please go to a doctor and tell them you do NOT understand how this whole body process works and get informed...really. we are NOT doctors here and we have NOT examined you - even if we were doctors - so if you REALLY want to know what's going on with your body - see a doctor. The best we can tell you is our experience and knowledge!

Good luck!

Talk to your doctor. Learn what is going on with your body.
Pick up the book "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Weschler.
Read it cover to cover to learn what is happening to you.
No one here can answer your questions because we are not your doctor. This is not something a person who's never met you can answer blindly on the internet.

A little blood can mean anything or nothing at all.
See a doctor if you want some definite answers.
All we can do is guess.
Things that can cause blood:
your period
hemorrhoids
nicked yourself shaving your bikini line
ovulation sometimes causes a bit of spotting
maybe blood in urine if there are bladder/kidney infection possibilities
Your period might also be messed up since you just came off of birth control
Maybe you shouldn't be having sex till you know what's going on.

I'm sorry - but how old are you?

Someone else asked about birth control and a supplement and I wondered and asked - "do you know about the birds and the bees?" If you do NOT understand what is happening with your body? You need to get informed.

If you do not understand what happens when you have unprotected sex after getting off birth control, you should NOT be having sex, let alone reproducing. PLEASE go back to school or talk to a doctor.

When you are on BC pills you do not ovulate normally or have a real period. the bleeding you get when you take your inactive pills each month you only get because you stop the hormones for a few days. So, anytime you stop the hormones you will get this kind of bleeding, no matter if you stop at the end of the pill pack or 3 days into it.

You just stopped your hormonal birth control. Your body is starting to adjust its hormones already. This is the sort of thing that happens when you pump your body full of synthetic hormones and then stop taking them.

Please make an appointment with your OB/GYN if you didn't talk to her about stopping your pills before you did it. If you're trying to get pregnant or you need a new birth control method, you need your OB/GYN. You also need to ask her to talk to you about your fertility and how the female body works. If you're pregnant this early, however, it's far too early to know or to test. You'll have to wait at least a month to find out.

Hi Rose.

I agree with everything everyone has said. But I want to add one more piece of information.

You're on the pill, right? But for whatever reason, you have stopped taking it, and you're having unprotected sex. That means you're actually MORE likely to get pregnant than under just about any other circumstance. If you're trying to get pregnant, that's great. If you're trying NOT to get pregnant, well: you'll get pregnant. Unless that's really, really, really, really exactly what you want, right now, then something has to change.

You can:

1. Get back on the pill, and take it flawlessly and religiously for at least 6 weeks before you have sex again.

2. Find another form of birth control, and use IT flawlessly and religiously.

3. Stop having sex.

Either way, though: Sexually active women (and men, but that's less relevant right now) need to have regular access to medical care. It doesn't matter how in love or monogamous you are -- that's not the point. If you want to be having sex, you need to see a gynecologist regularly. If that's not something you can do, then now is not the time to be having sex. At all.
