Hi J.-
As long as your 3 year old is up to date on shots he will not need them till the 4 year old visit and my pediatrician actually told me I could wait till 5 year, but I just got it over with...:)
Hope that helps,
M.

If I remember correctly there is 1 more round of shots that your son needs, but it's up to you and your peditrician when to give them. I think the window starts at 3 years and you have up until 5 years (or when he is going to start Kindergarten) to do them. My peditrician pushed it off to my daughter's 5 year check up. I hope that is right, because my son turns 3 in July and oh boy am I not ready for him to have shots either!

Usually children do not need shots at 3, unless they missed any previous shots...even to enter school they are usually fine until kindergarten...hope that helps,

Hi J.,
Meaghan is right. I have a schedule of when babies have their shots and if your son is up to date with all his shots, then no, he won't need them at three. But you should make an appointment with his pediatrician for a routine check up. If you would like a copy of this schedule email me: ____@____.com and I'll be happy to email you a copy. Best wishes, G.

The only shot I believe is necessary at three is Hepatitus A. I have a schedule my pediatrician gave me and that's what it says. Call your doc's office. They'll tell you.

You DO NOT have to vaccinate your kids for school. 48 states have waivers available for personal, religious or medical exemptions. Read the book, A Shot in the Dark - a great testimony to the risk of vaccines. You can get it on Amazon.com Also, try this link for more info:

My four kids are VERY healthy and NOT vaccinated ;)

Best of luck!

i think at 3 they don't need any shots but still need a well check. As long as your up to date with your shots already that is. My daughter just turned 4 and she got 3 shots, it was awful:( But my dr. warned me at 4 yrs old is the worst for shots.
