Teenage Son with Severe allergies...need Suggestions/solutions

My poor 17 year old came home today MISERABLE. His allergies are our of control. He normally takes Claritin-D, he didn't have any today. We have been to the allergist, and did the shots for a bit, but the allergist is too far away for weekly visits and for some inexplicable reason his Doctor refuses to give the shots, even if we provide the solution. Anyway, any suggestions? His science teacher suggested wheat grass and vitamin C. Anything else work? Thanks!

Daughter Came Home from Camp W/ Hives

My nine year old daughter came home from camp with a HORRIBLE case of hives. The hives cover her entire body and in many places they are huge welts. My thermometer is not working, but it seems like she might have a temp. I don't know of any food allergies she has and am wracking my brain about what could have caused this. This is her first time at camp and I know maybe it could be nerves, but I wouldn't imagine that nerves would cause such a terrible case of hives!
