O.: We absolutely adore KRK at Barker Cypress! Our little girl has been going there since she was around 18 months and still continues to grow and learn and be nurtured now at almost 4. If you go to City Search and locate the school (rated #1 child care facility in Houston), you will see my comment as "Brasmommy". In fact, my little girl was on the Primrose waiting list for over a year, and recently, when her name came up to enter the "prestigious" school, I did some updated research and learned that my child was in a far better school than I realized and we ultimately declined moving her! I wish I could tell you all I've learned about KRK BC, but here it is in a nutshell: KRK BC is owned by a married couple who are always there, treating their students as their own children and their teacher/student ratio is lower than what is required by the state. All their lead teachers hold the "Child Development Associate" certification, and will begin training for their "Child Care Professional" certification beginning next year, KRK BC has trained 30 Texas State Licensing Reps over the past 3 years, and the Regional State Licensing Rep takes her grandchild to this school. If you'd like to learn more, let me know and I'll be happy to send you my typewritten and verified notes on their qualifications, etc. My child is constantly nurtured, happy and learning at this school; she comes home all the time saying that her teachers love her. But don't worry too much if your first impression of the school isn't as warm as you'd expect. The staff at times seems a bit more gifted with the children than the parents, and if the lobby is busy, you may not get the "warm, cozy" response anticipated. Don't hold that against them, just hang in there and the staff will begin to show their true "warmer" colors. I was sold on the school once I applied my "the proof is in the pudding" motto by watching, listening, and showing up unexpected: the children have a blast learning from these folks and the teachers there love what they're doing and do a great job!

I have not had my children there, but I have had several friends who have had infants and older children there and each one have absolutely loved the place. I haven't heard one of them complain. There used to be a waiting list to get into some of the rooms, so if you don't have to wait I would suggest you jump on it. A little over a year ago, I think the infant room cost around $200 per week but this was for children under the age of 18 months. I am unsure about the older children, but I know they are comparable to others in the area.

I have also heard great things about Kids R Kids. Also check out
Cypress Kids Learning Center on Jarvis. They have a pool, a big
area to play, and great teachers. They are also set back quite
a distance from the road, and not on a major road.I feel the whole
setting of a school is important, and theirs is so lovely. It is
like a cozy home and school all in one.

I took my 2 year old son to Kids R Kids on Barker Cypress, and he loved it! I was able to view him from the online webcams! I loved it! He learned how to count to 20 in two weeks, and they potty trained him fast! He begs me to take him to the potty now! I have never had ANY problems with this daycare. They are very expensive, ($180.00), but they are worth every penny. My son isn't even 3 yet, and he is potty trained. IT WAS WELL WORTH IT! I will be retuning to Kids R Kids off of Barker Cypress as soon as I get extra money.
