Hey Moms!
We are trying to narrow down daycare for our baby to be and due to the waiting lists for infant care need some advice quickly. Does anyone have any bad or good experiences with the child care facilities in Las Colinas? We are new to the area and need some help. We have only looked at Miss Bloomingdales so far and seemed to like it but who knows better than a group of moms! Please help :)
Thanks!

Have you considered homecare for that one on one attention and small group atmosphere? If not, I think you may like it. I'm a homecare provider so if interested in learning more, please contact me.

My son loves it there at Miss Bloomingdale's Academy. He started there at 18 months and now he is 4 years old. If I didn't change jobs, he would still be enrolled.
Their staff is great. Jill and Maggie and the majority of all the teachers have been there for a long time. I liked that they did not have much staff turnover.

Discover and Share is at Beltline and MacArthur in Coppell/Valley Ranch area. It had an excellent reputation when my son was a little one. I haven't heard recently but I know that the director has been there for years. That speaks volumes.

My little guy (2 yrs old) goes to Miss Bloomingdale's Academy. He LOVES it! He started there at 13 months. Although we didn't use/need the infant room, I do pay attention to the care for future babies :) The infant room is a bit pricey in comparison to other schools, but I feel it is worth it in the long run if you plan to stay there. The staff is very nurturing and even the directors are very supportive and attentive. The activities and learning opportunities for the children are not even available at other schools. They bring petting zoos to the school, they teach them how to swim on-site, they teach them sign-language, Spanish, and English. They use the "My Baby Can Read" program, they teach them how to use the library and computers (since they have both on-site), they have both indoor and outdoor play so that the kids are able to use the indoor playground on days that the weather does not permit outdoor play...the list goes on and on.

I know how difficult it can be to select the best school for your baby. I pray you are able to find the best fit for you, your baby, and your peace of mind. :) Feel free to contact me if you have additional questions.

Hey A.,

I went through the daycare search 3 years ago. It can be a little intimidating. It is such an important decision.
I found Kids R Kids in Las Colinas. They are wonderful!.. My son has been there since he was 6 weeks old. He loves it! I Love it. I looked at over 30 daycares in the area and to me once I toured KRK I knew. The teachers are great and really treat the kids like their own. They work with the parents and the kids to make sure everyone is happy. Once the children get old enough they start offering so many great things from introduction to sports to ballet. They start very early teaching the kids. They also make sure that all of the kids are more than ready for kindergarten long before its time for them to go. Give them a call, tour the school. I am bias obviously. Jaxson has been there for 3 years and I am an overly involved Mom. (first child, older mom.. never thought I could have kids yadi ya) I will tell you one more thing. Jaxson was 9 weeks early so when he started with them he was like 7 or 8 pounds. He started 1 week before his due date. I was really nervous. They were awesome. They also have cameras. Anyway. I hope this helps ###-###-####

Good Luck.

My sons go to Children's Choice in Dallas. I love them!! I would recommend calling them. There is one in Irving and I know some of the teachers that went to work in Irving after it opened because it was closer to their homes. They have a great curriculum and my boys always come home happy. My oldest is almost 3 and he LOVES going to school. Here's the info on the one in Irving:

Both of my daughters attended Kids R Kids in Las Colinas (near 635 and Beltline). They were both 6 weeks old when they started, and my oldest was there until she was two. We were very happy with the care they received. The teachers were very loving, and the facility was very nice. They both learned sign language as infants, and my older daughter learned some Spanish when she was in the toddler class. They loved it! Unfortunately, I found another job in Keller, so we had to move them to another daycare. Otherwise, they would probably both still be enrolled at Kids R Kids. Good luck with your search!
