What to Wear to a Wedding?!

A friend of my husbands is getting married in Dec. What do people wear these days? I went to Macy's and Carson's but everything either looked like mother of the bride or prom to me. Also, 2 kids later and my body shape is not what it use to be (boobs are gigantic and my posture suffers as a result).

On a side note, whose bright idea is it to leave the sleeves off dresses for winter...brrr!

What can I do next?

I've gotten my favorite dresses at White House Black Market. It's not any more expensive than the department stores and the styles are often classic enough that I don't worry that they will go out of style. Look them up... they're all over the place! http://www.whitehouseblackmarket.com/store/home.jsp Good luck!

C.,

I think just about anything is appropriate, so long as you are in semi-formal wear. If you're really discouraged shopping I would call the women's department at Lord N Taylor or the like, ask for a personal shopper. It's their job to help you find something appropriate.

If I were you, I'd buy something that you'd plan to wear in the future. No sense in buying a "one time" dress if you're not even in the wedding/an immediate relative.

Tell your DH, I've spent money on this dress, so you should take me out to a nice dinner so I get some use out of it!

You go girl!
