I'm trapped indoors--no news, etc.
What's the general vibe out there in society with the recent demise of Osama Bin laden? Fill me in!

What can I do next?

Something to occupy your time, aside from Bin Laden...

Here in Richmond, VA, it's gorgeous and sunny and beautiful out! I'm sitting on my porch working... well, mamapedia-ing ;)

There's this little old couple walking up the hill, they walk every day... he's slower than she is, so she waits for him at the top of the hill and then smacks him on the butt, SO cute.

There is a robin's nest in the bush to my left, and the mama bird is feeding her 3 little babies. SUPER cute. I can relate to having 3 little mouths to feed.

My tv? OFF. Planning on keeping it off the rest of the day. Kind of over hearing about Bin Laden ;)

Just bought a new car, so I smile whenever I see it in my driveway!

I'm going to take the baby for a walk when he wakes up.

Get outside on your lunchbreak!! This stuff will be on the news for weeks ;)

I am upset to see people cheering in the streets and holding flags. I understand the feelings of justice being fulfilled by his death. I am very happy that the evil man is gone but will not cheer the death of anyone. I am grateful to the men and woman who defend our country and our country's interests abroad...who put their lives on the line. I am grateful for leaders of nations who make decisions to go after evil like Bin Laden.

I don't think it is in our nation's best interest(or safety) to be celebrating Bin Laden's death. Use that energy and resolve to continue supporting going after those that support terrorism/evil...and the person who will take Bin Laden's place now that he is gone. They will only come back with more resolve to take down our freedom loving country.

Sooo, as for me. I am glad the man is gone. I will not dance in the streets...I will instead say a silent prayer for those that continue to protect our nation...that is in stark contrast to anything Bin Laden believed in or his thug followers. I believe the judment he faces now is far worse than what our troops did to him.

I am neither Muslim, nor Al-Queda, but I am not elated at any other person's death. (And neither are any of the Muslims I know, for that matter). I am relieved that it is over and he won't be causing anymore harm. I am proud of our military, and our President. I am disappointed it took this long. I am worried about the repercussions.

I am not sorry he is dead, but I will not be dancing in the streets, because I am a Christian and the bible tells us not to rejoice in the death of an enemy. He is dead, and that is enough.

I too find it disturbing that we as a Nation stood in front of the White House and celebrated. I thought the same of other nations on 9/11.
We still have a lot of work to do. And there are a lot of people who still hate us, because we are Americans.

I did think it was pretty funny that Saudi Arabia didn't want the body, so "according to Muslim tradition" he was dumped in the sea. Kinda reminded me of old pirate stories.
