Yes, because I'm morbid like that (just being honest). Plus, I think it will shut a lot of people up about conspiracies and whatnot. So yes, just O. time, please and thank you ;)
...the pictures of Osama Bin Laden's dead body to believe he IS dead?
Why or why not?
.

No.. B/c I have faith that the President would not just tell the world he is dead and be bluffing about it.
Do you need to see the pics?
No, I don't need a gruesome photo to prove anything. I trust our military and trust our president. They did what they said they did, end of story.
No. I also think the media should drop the frenzy. He's dead. Let our military and gov't leaders get back to work.
Nor do I feel it is appropriate to be celebrating in the streets.
I think if they show the pictures it could stir up trouble, and those with conspiracy theories could easily say the pictures aren't clear enough or are doctored. With technology the way it is now, a photo doesn't really prove much because you can photo shop things into anything you want them to be. It is a huge moment in American history, but it worries me that the media over-shares and could put our military men and women at risk by giving more information out than is necessary.
I say let it be.
No, I don't. And I don't want to degrade our military by calling them on the carpet and demanding to see a photo of a guy that I only know from grainy press photos to *prove* that he is dead. If I were the president, then YES, I would want proof. :)
No, I do not need to see them, I trust that the "deed was done" ... I am also dissapointed with those that are celebrateing his death. I understand that he was a threat to our society and I do not expect anyone to mourn him but I think it wrong to celebrate as well. It is not in me as a person to be happy that anyone has died no matter how "well deserved" it may or may not have been. Just my 2cents.
I, personally, have no desire to see pictures of his, or anyone else's dead body, period.
Pictures are so easily faked or manipulated, anyway.
Also, letting those pictures out could put our not only our country, but our troops in Afghanistan, at risk for retaliation.
The pictures are not being let out, anyway. I think Obama is being very smart & cautious about how the death is handled.
I think the people who *need* to see the pictures to believe his is dead are just going to say pictures prove nothing...they can be altered or created. I think the people who *want* to see the pictures will think ha, he really is dead.
I don't need or want to see the pictures because I am confident he is dead and feel no desire to see dead bodies having just watched a documentary on Saddam Hussein's regime in which they showed far too many.
Don't want the image of it in my brain forever. Who want to see a picture of anyone shot through the left eye with a high powered rifle? Do you know what a high powered rifle does? I can imagine as I love to target shoot. The back of his head is gone with the contents spattered everywhere behind wherever he stood. The imagining is plenty for me. I don't want to see it for real
Really, if someone is skeptical than they are going to be skeptical that the pictures are real.
I don't need to see and I am not out dancing in the street about it. I am proud and have a renewed sense of patriotism in the remarkable efforts of our military for finally making this happen, but am not really dwelling on it.
I actually find the timing of it and all the political fall out (good and bad) interesting and indicative of some VERY strategic planning on the part of our president and his advisers.
Nah. I have way more important things going on in my life that actually affect me personally than whether this guy is dead or not. Which he is by the way.
Edit for Angelina: My life the day before he died was the same as it is now after he's dead. It doesn't affect me "directly" I guess I should have said. Seeing the picture would not change anything for me. If he's dead he's dead. If he's not he's not. Just how does that affect me personally?
This man should affect everyones life! Hes caused alot of pain and suffering to many people, To not take it personal would be selfish.Just because my personal family was not killed or effected dose not mean that it dosnt have anything to do with me. As far as the picture goes im not sure its real. But i hope it is. As we watched all the drama hes caused go down on us it would be my pleasure to see that he is truly dead! -just my opinion. BTW-I have the images of watching the news of the ditruction he caused implanted in my brain .. More so the people that were crying and screaming that they had lost a loved O... Im sure everyone watch the news that O. horrible day. This should be a walk in the park comparable speaking! This is the U.S.A. AND WOULDNT IT BE A SHAME. if it wasnt this way? We support ourselfs and other nations. Time to support OURSELFS! -It matters alot to me. For the future of my children! --AMEN! Denise P ..:)LET ME CLARIFY-------edited back to Bobby- I quess it makes a difference in our everyday lifes when your own children are fighting on the front lines for OUR country!. Cause and effect that that point is important!
no and i think its going to make the hate against the us worse. make the taliban more vindictive. if they had done that to our 9/11 victims we would have been more teed off. I think its sadistic
If the government was bold enough to make an announcement worldwide about it, I would presume they are right. As for seeing the pics, that is just human curiousity and if they don't show it, it is O. more thing I do not need to see!
Goodness no I don't need to see that, my husband was saying the pictures were fake and he saw the two original pictures and how they blended them to fake it. Hubby knows me and told me it's better I don't look at them, believe I wasn't going to anyways.
I'll take the military's word for it; not everything has to be a conspiracy theory I do believe them so there's my two cents.
i don't "need" to see it. but it if they showed it, it would be ok. we had to believe "there were weapons of mass destruction" with out proof right? I actually believe they got bin laden though! JMO
I don't believe, in this day and age, that seeing a photo will provide any more conclusive evidence of OBL's death than we have now. I'd hazard a guess that there are some pretty photoshop (or other highly specialized photo editing medium) savvy folks out there (read: working for the gov't) that could create a photo that would confirm, without a shadow of a doubt, that OBL is, in fact, dead.
I think we all have at least smidge of question in our minds about it, but I'm not sure what evidence could be provided that would clear up any and all doubt. I suppose if OBL were to suddenly appear LIVE, that would pose some question (could still be a planned imposter for this very situation), but in the absence of something like that occurring, I *choose* to place my belief in our President and military.
My lifelong best friend's husband was a Master Seargant in the Army Special Forces, and was killed in Afghanistan, leaving behind his wife and 2 children. I'd like to believe that OBL is now, finally, paying for his crimes, and not by his removal from life in this world, but through his meeting Allah.
I don't... After all, a picture doesn't prove anything any more. I could photoshop a picture of myself to look dead if I really wanted to... although I am very pleased that he is finally dead. I get a kick out of people who 'down' on everyone for 'celebrating death'... The funny thing is I'm sure they would have a very different opinion if THEY had lost a loved O. during any O. of the terrorist attacks Usama orchestrated, not only 9/11. I'm not 'celebrating death', I'm celebrating the potentially thousands of lives saved by killing a madman. I am also celebrating for the closure that has finally been awarded to the THOUSANDS left behind after his attacks. I know that if someone I loved was killed, I would celebrate the day their killer died... so why should it be any different because the same man is responsible for so many? Yes, others will step up and continue the cycle... but without his support and help I also believe that it will impact their organization. Not to mention how much information the CIA will be able to extract from his compound... I'm pretty sure all that will help our cause. :)
No. If he weren't dead he would put out a "Death to America" video and everyone would know. So, there is no possible reason to believe he isn't dead. Not only do I not need to see it, I have no desire to see it.
No, I believe he is dead and was identified by DNA and his wife. My job surrounds looking at pictures of crime scenes and dead bodies all day long, so it wouldn't bother me to see it, but I think the general public does not realize that dead people who have been shot in the head do NOT look like they do in the movies. The Obama administration would probably get a lot of criticism if they DID release them, because how many people really want to see that? If the doubting Thomases don't believe the President and our military, why would they believe a photo that could have been photoshopped anyway?
What the hell does it matter whether this man is dead or isn't? How many thousands of Americans died in 9/11? Did you need to see pictures of all of them to verify that that number actually died? This old man hiding in a cave has not been in control of Al Quaida for quite some time. He means nothing and should mean nothing to us. Don't get me wrong... I'm glad he's dead. He was an evil, evil soul, and he's facing God's judgment now, and I'm glad for that. However, all of those thousands of people who died that day are STILL dead, this country is forever changed. If we killed Osama Bin Laden thousands of times over, that would never change. So what the hell does it matter??
I have no desire to see pictures of any dead people, be they terrorists, presidents, or celebrities.
