christ-like behaviors - that's my ONLY one. it actually entails EVERYTHING we seem to all want...patience, honesty, humility, loving, discipline. all of it encompassed into one character trait. :)
What are the 3 most important parental qualities that make a "Great Mom"? And "Great Grandmother" too if you care to think that far in advance.
For me, it's the ability to love unconditionally, patience and honesty. Thank you.
Thanks. I got a few responses that were unexpected like "fun". I like that one so yesterday I took my kids' ice skating. I have never skated myself and I was afraid of it hurting my ankles and not being able to do it. I decided to be a "fun" mom and I put those skates on and learned right along with my kids and I kept thinking about that respective quality making a "great mom". I could go on and on. I like the "staying calm" one too and that I need to display that trait more consistently. And the "listening and engaging" with them while they speak. That cannot be overvalued--Looking at them, being interested and attentive with them ! I like the "flexiblility" which means to be easy going like a willow tree.

Before I opened your post I said love, patience, and honesty :).
I'd say love, patience and fun! (if I could only say 3).
Consistency (from rules to routines)
Unconditional love (accepting them and not trying to change them, I tend to associate honesty with unconditional love b/c I believe you don't lie to someone you unconditionally love)
Being playful (Who wants a serious stick in the mud? I love dancing around like a fool in the house/playground, love sliding down slides with her, and having splashing wars while the pool is filling up)
Update
Lol I read your responses. We all have things in common so it must mean something good hehe.
patience, humor/fun, and compassion.
maybe i would say unconditional love and compassion interchangeably...they kind of go hand in hand...
For me it's, knowing myself, following my inner wise intuition, and being lovingly and spiritually connected with my children.
Good question. Helps moms feel more connected to eachother and to the amazing work we are doing. I hope you get alot of feedback!

1) Listening and engaging when they speak.
2) Commending them for doing the right things.
3) Last, but not least... a whole lotta love, hugs and smooches.
These things were very important to me as child.
CALM-- I think it's one of the most important and most under rated qualities. You can freak out AFTER the emergency is over, or after your kid is feeling better. PLEASE save your freak out for the shower, or for when you're in your car by yourself and AFTER the situation is handled and NOT in front of the kid during the emergency!!!!!
Love and empathy are my other top 2 I think....
Unconditional love, flexibility, patience
Consistency(with patience, they sort of go hand in hand)
Unconditional LOVE(and by that i mean everything, even if they turn out to be hookers, drug dealers or politicians)
Childlike whimsy(teaching your kids to have fun and not take things too serious is also very important)
I could really use a course in patience though, but i think i have the rest covered
Unconditional Love
Consistency
The ability to listen and really hear them.

Consistency, being a good listener, empathy...
