You need an appraisel first.
We have not sold anything but we have purchased coins, etc. for our collection from Dallas Gold and Silver. I know they buy and sell (not just numismatics but jewelry as well) and they are a reputable place.
Good Morning,
Any ideas on where i could sell a diamond necklace? thank you.

With an appraisal you'll probably do better at a jewelry store or eBay than at a pawn shop.
Ebay or Craigslist. With Ebay you're taking a chance that you may not get the price you are looking for unless you set a buy it now price but the it may not sell and you still have to pay the ebay fees. With craigslist, it can be a little risky and scary cuz you never know who you're dealing with so be careful with who you choose when you get replies. A lot of scams with both but probably more so with Craigslist.
if you get an appraisal, you can sell it on Ebay for what it's true value is, if not your best option is to take it to a jeweler who will pay you for the chain weight and the karat size.
Trying to sell jewelry without an appraisal is hard to get what you want for the piece.
Good Luck
