I have tried them two times and more than likely i will not try them again. I sent them 3 pieces of gold and got back less than $10.
Try goldfingers here in colorado springs or even ebay!
I have some old jewlery I want to sell, and I found this website that sends you an envelope to buy your old jewlery, then they send you a check for the value of what you sent them. I was wondering if anyone has heard of them or used them before I send them anything.

I'd take it in to a jeweler, or artist. Precious metals are wonderful to work with, and many would be happy to buy from you.
It sounds very fishy to me. I think you'd be giving your stuff away...I think a pawn shop would be a better bet and some times you can walk away with cash. Other times it would be like a consinment shop. Blessings on the babe to-come....
Sorry, I am a skeptic. I would never send anything of value to one of these places. I have seen the commercials and always wonder how many people they scam. There are websights where you can check these companies out and see if they are reliable. The pawn shops will buy your jewelry, but I would get an appraisal at a jewelry store first. Gold is worth a lot now. Good luck.
Don't do that. Go to Cascade Refinery. It's on about 2600 south and 3200 West. They will weigh it in front of you and give you what it's worth. I would be very skeptical about mailing my gold and trusting that they would send you the right amount.
I sold a bunch of old gold jewelry at Artsmith's on Vista in Boise. They gave me market price and I was able to apply it to the cost of my husband's wedding band. They would be worth checking out.
I haven't dealt with BrokenGold.com, but I can tell you that what they consider the value of your gold, and what you consider are two totally different things. I worked in a pawn shop and second hand store that bought/pawned peoples gold and silver jewelry. We were not allowed to give them more than 20% of the value of their items if buying, and 10% if pawning, because we couldn't resell the jewelry for anything close to what they paid for it. Jewelry stores mark up their product 1005 to 1000% of it's real value. That's a huge profit for them, but absolutely true. I would be very careful about dealing with any of these companies. It would be better for you to take your broken pieces to a jeweler and have him make you an original piece of jewelry for yourself. If it was me, I would never ever deal with BrokenGold.com or any other mail in company, or a pawnshop either. You just don't get anything close to the value of your items. If you really want to sell your things, put an ad in the classified section of your newspaper, or in a newspaper that is just classified ads. We have one around here called The Thrifty Nickel Want Ads. Good luck to you!
Think this through; you are taking items that may or may not be very valuable, sending them off by mail to you don't know who, they will "honestly" tell you what the items are worth and send you the money? Yeah, right. They say there is one born every minute.
If you sold something on Ebay or Craigslist would you ship it to the purchaser without payment and without knowing what they will pay you? No? Why would you do this? What if you don't like the price you get? Change your mind and want the items back before you get the money? You don't let valuables out of your hand until you know their worth and have the money! Unless you own something of historical value or which is really spectacular, you won't get close to what you paid retail for it when you sell. If you relinquish all control in the transaction you will probably get just what you deserve.
I wouldn't do it. On the news last night they talked about contacting the BBB to find a reputable place in town. I wouldn't even go to a regular jewelry store. Go to a place that specializes in this. Gold is worth about $1000/once right now and you don't want to lose money. I definitely wouldn't trust a place that you have to mail your stuff to.
Check out ebay. People sell jewelry on ebay, there is a specific jewelry catagory so people that are interested in buying jewelry go directly to that, you can set a price minimum of what you want, use paypal and it is safe. I do ebay all the time and have had wonderful success with it and received better prices than anywhere else. Ebay takes 10% of your sale so some people add an extra couple dollars to the shipping cost to defray that a little. 90% profit is great and you do it on your own time schedule. There is a self help on ebay for first time sellers, it is very informative and makes the process quite simple.
Good luck,

Usually when you sell your gold you will get scrap prices which is no where near what retail is. The best use of your old jewelry is to have it melted down and something else made. The price of the same amount of gold in a custom piece will yield much better results.
Eh...this makes me leary...
No, but my sister used Cash4Gold.com and had great results. No scam there.
SCAM. Pretty obvious.
Just remember gold is over $1000 per troy ounce when looking to get a fair price.
No , I just take some stuff into a jeweler and they give me money for it. Call around to different ones.
There are many companies similar to this and they all give you basically pennies on the dollar for the value of the melted down gold. I'd see what other options you have, shop around and see what jewelers in you area will pay for it, at least then you can take the offer or not, with this broken gold place your gold is gone the moment you put it in the mail and you just have to accept whatever amount they give you; I guarantee that it won't be anything close to what they make it sound like, that's how they make their money.
