this is the International Cesarean Awareness Network. They could probably help you find additional information.

My third baby refused to stay head down too. I had had two previous c-sections and my doctor told me to get on all fours and rock my pelvis back and forth to encourage her to turn and stay down. Good Luck!

Hi S.,
My son was breech up til 36 weeks and it took 2 external versions to flip him. It was pretty darn uncomfy, but I was going for a home birth so he had to be head down! It worked, though, and it was worth it. (I'd tried acupuncture, moxa, slant board, the positions on spinning babies, and the hands-and-knees thing already but he just didn't want to turn.) You might ask your OB who might do a version. Also, a friend had her baby flip by doing moxa like someone else mentioned.

Good luck! I hope you get your vbac.

Have a chiropractor perform the Webster technique on you. My baby turned over after the first session.

Good Luck!

You don't say if this is your first vbac. It makes a difference. If you've had multiple c-sections, your doctor may say that it's best to continue with c-section births. There are so many factors to be considered, your age, the size of the baby, the fact that the baby is presenting breech and maybe can't be turned. Dr's are not into risk taking, and this would have been a discussion to have with your ob up front to see what their preference of delivery is with for a Mom who's had 4 kids already and at least one c-section. I wish you well. Having a 'c' increases your recovery time after delivery and you have a house full of kids to care for. I hope that you have some reliable help when you come, regardless of a c-section or not. Start putting meals up in the freezer and stocking the pantry. Also at your next dr appt, ask the doctor how the baby is presenting. Don't borrow trouble only to fret unnecessarily. If you can, put your feet up and get some rest while you can. Happy baby to be!!!

HI! I just had a VBAC and had to turn my baby. I had gone through a lot of trouble to be able to have a VBAC and so I wasn't gonna let this stop me! My midwife suggested a process called Moxibustion. I found a lady here locally that does it, and my baby turned that night!

My 2nd was breech. I did the yoga type exercises several times a day, the one where you lie on your back with hips raised while your shoulders stay on the floor. After several days, my baby turned herself. I can't remember the name of the technique but there are websites and it has been discussed on these boards. Perhaps someone else remembers?

The other ladies' ideas are awesome -- we will all be pulling for you. I discovered in my 39th week that my daughter was breach (and I was nearly 1/2 way dilated), and so we went the C-section route by necessity. Our pastor's wife has had six kids (ALL C-sections, because of a medical condition that prevents vaginal deliveries) and she swears she wouldn't do it any other way. For me, who had a "natural" delivery the first go-around, they were equally difficult, just in different ways.

Good luck getting that bambino turned!
