My periods were normal after I got the tubal done. The only thing is that my period are much more heavier then before. Your body may need to learn how to adjust to the tubal or something. I am not sure. But it might be a good idea to talk to you doctor about...

Hi T., I had mine done back in 2001 and never have been the same since check out this post I found in 08. I really wished I had came upon this before I had got mine done. http://retardedrugrat.wordpress.com/2006/06/14/post-tubal...
You would need to read from the top. I am now saving up to have it reversed.
Best wishes to you,-vero-

Unfortunately heavy perids can be a common occurence after a tubal ligtation. My periods were sooooo heavy after my c/s and tubal - and I dealt with them for nearly 6 years before I had an endometrial ablation - (Novasure like the person below) - best thing I ever did!!

This topic has been discussed before - and some women think that women report heavier than normal periods b/c they are no longer on birth control pills, which keep your period "light" - I did NOT use horomonal birth control for many years becasue of migraines - and so this was not the case for me . My dr. told me it was normal after a c/s with tubal to have heavy flow...

Oh my gosh. If you do the research, which I wish I had done before mine, this is apparently a common thing. I was regular, I had my tubal when my youngest ( I have 4) was 2 months. I breastfed and went about two more months without a period, then when I finally got it, I got it. Two months almost of non stop bleeding (little to none but some everyday. Then it went about a month or so without one, since then I have one every month but a heavy flow that I have to use a pad and a tampon (super on both) to deal with the heaviness of the flow. If I knew then what I know now, I would still have had it done, just would have been better prepared. If you research Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome you can find a boat load of info on it. It is insane and I hope one day to to find a fix for this. Hoping to get insurance again and go to a GYN to find out what can be done to repair the damage or to slow the flow every month.

I had a tubal after my second child and had very messed up periods it eventually got to the point where i was bleeding constantly and it got really heavy. i just had an endometerial ablation. It is called the novasure procedure. you can read all about it at www.novasure.com I would talk to you obgyn about it. I wait about a year after my tubal but I would have done it a lot sooner now that i look back.

I had a tubal in August 2008. I am still messed up on my periods. When I first stopped pumping, I actually had somewhat normal periods for about 3 months, then I bled for 3-4 months straight. Not heavy but atleast some spotting every day. Now my periods are every 25-35 days but they are 10-11 days in length. I know my SIL also had weird periods after she had her tubal. I have been to the doctor a couple of times and nothing was ever found. Good luck and I hope your cycle gets better soon.

I've had mine for 4 years. It has been a nightmare. I want to have it undone. I wish I never did it. My periods are horrible, painful heavy. I can't even begin to go into it. The PMS is beyond awful. I hope yours gets better for you.

Hi T....I had mine in 2008 after my c-section with my little boy and I have not been the same since. My periods used to be light and maybe 3-4 days max. Now I go on the average 7-9 days, kinds heavy and stop. Then start again 21-24 days later. I HURT more now then I ever have. I have talked to the dr and she just says my body is "adjusting" to the tubal. I wish someone would have told me it would be this way and I would have found a different form of BC. Good Luck though and let me know if you find a solution that helps.
