i'm just went to the ob and im thinking of a uterine abilation. i am very eneimic and have very heavy periods with big clots. so im looking into it i know it isnt 100 percent positive i wont have no ore periods but ill be happy to have less bleeding... anyways is there anywomen had this done and what are youre experiences with it pleas let me know before i set the appointment to go through with it in case it is a bad thing i dont really wanna have a hysterectomy thats is another reason why im going with the abilation.since my uterus is heart shaped is why im doing the thermachoice abilation.

What can I do next?

sorry I can't tell you first hand, but a good friend of mine was telling me to do it. I don't know what type I just know she said it was an ablation. She didn't have any bleeding or the symptoms that go with your cycle, no moodiness, hot sweats, etc She said it was the best thing she has ever done.
I'll pray for you to have wisdom on this decision.
Take care,
K.

Hi C.-
I had the Novasure uterine ablation a couple of years ago (I was 37).... don't know if that's similiar to the thermachoice or not.
Anyway, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. My periods used to be 7-9 days with heaving bleeding for 3-4 of those. It got worse after my third child. Now I have very light bleeding for only a couple of days, sometimes 3. Very light.... I usually only use a pantiliner now.
The procedure was quite easy... I did have a couple of days of cramping afterwards which was uncomfortable, but really not a lot more than my cramping that used to come with my regular periods!

I hope you have a great experience and that this really helps improve your life- it did mine!!

P.S. my terrible symptoms of moodiness, cramping, bloating, etc. also diminished GREATLY!!!

I had this done in October of 2008. It's the best thing I've ever done (besides my carpell tunnel surgery). Anyway, I had no period whatsoever for 3 months. And now I usualy have very light flow for 1-2 days per month. There was no pain or discomfort. I had it done because after the birth of my second child, my periods had gotten so heavy I couldn't keep up with them. Before this, my periods were very predictable with average flow. I say go for it. You may be one of the lucky ones who never has a period again.

I've never had this done, my cousin is thinking about a similar procedure. My son is 2 1/2 yrs old and could use a playmate every now and again as he's home with me all day! If your interesed, let me know. And good luck with your procedure! ____@____.com

I had this procedure done June 2008.. For the first 5months I had no periods everything was good. Then I started having them but they were less bleeding & nocramping etc.. It has now been a year & I still have my periods they are less I only use a pantiliner but I go sometimes 5 to 7 days & lately I have been getting alot of back pain during that time.. It is definately better to not bleed as much but just so you don't get your hopes up about not having them at all.. My friend had it done 4 years ago & she has not had a period sense so it definately depends on the person.. Good Luck & welcome to AZ..
