Try seeing a chiropractor to help regulate your body.
Hello! My husband and I are ready to try for our second child. I stopped taking the pill in April and had a period three days after I stopped. I have not had a period since then (04/08). I'm starting to get worried that I haven't had a period in almost nine weeks. Can I get pregnant if I haven't had a period? I did take a pregnancy yesterday and it was negative. Has anyone else had a similar experience when they stopped the pill?

If you had a period and then stopped having them, you might already be pregnant, the home test might be wrong, get a blood test to be sure before you do anything else or take any medications. Yes you can get pregnant even if you are not having periods. I was pregnant with my first, within 3 days of going off the pill, I was on it for 7 yrs before that. It may just be goog news already. Good luck.
You might be interested in a great book called Real Food for Mother and Baby: The Fertility Diet, Eating for Two and Baby's First Foods by Nina Planck. Your diet plays a big role in fertility. A great web resource I've found for moms is www.nourishmd.com. Really good info and advice that has helped a lot.
Good luck and remember stressing out about it won't help so try to do something to relax! (Hard with a 2 year old I know!)
Yes you can. I conceived my third without my period ever returning after going off the pills. Found out I was 5 weeks pregnant 7 weeks after going off the pills. I've read it can take up to 3-6 months for your body to adjust after the pills.
Yes when i stopped the pill after having ababy the first time it took three months to become regular and I went almost 3 months with out having a period. Your worried and stress will not help so relax and it will all work out. Good luck and best wishes
Hello,
YES, you can get pregnant without a period. I haven't experienced it but I have two friends that don't get periods without being on the pill and their doctors have told them both they should have no issue getting pregnant, it just makes it more difficult to determine ovulation but you should still be ovulating. Also, you might want to make a doc apt and have them test you just in case your at home test has missed it. I have also had friends that took pregnancy tests that came out negative and in the end they were actually pregnant but the test was wrong, I would try to get in at your OB if you can, otherwise you can wait...have you had any other symptoms similar to your previous pregnancy that might make you think you could be pregnant?
if you have been on the pill for awhile it might take your body a few cycles to get regulated again (anywhere from 2-6 months depending on the type of birthcontrol you were using) The reason for this is because your body has had it's hormones regulated with the pill, the pill suppressed ovulation, and told your body when to shed uterine lining (your period) it takes a little while sometimes for your body to say "Oh yeah...I know how to do this"
The other option is that you have slow rising HCG that is what happened to me in my first pregnancy. Despite multiple urine and blood pregnancy tests they all came back negative...until I was about 10-11wks along then I got a positive urine test.
