Interview the kids... they will give you more than enough material!

Ask questions likely to elicit good responses...

What is your favorite thing about Mrs. Smith?
What is the silliest thing you have seen her do?
What is something she taught you that you want to remember?

I love Krista's idea! Kids come up with some great stuff. Pass a large white piece of paper and ask them to write something to the teacher. You can use a bit of everyone's words.

One day while I was reading "Samantha the Snob" to the 1st grade class, a little boy raised his hand to tell me his teacher's name was Samantha. I kept it together, but kids are FUNNY!

A variation on what I generally put in end-of-year thank you notes:

"There is a phrase which has been circulating around the globe for quite some time. Different cultures word it in different ways, but in America, the most popular phrasing is this: 'It takes a village to raise a child.' We would like to sincerely thank the teachers, faculty, and staff for being such invaluable parts of our children's 'village.'"
